Student answer (Band 5.5)
Few citizens say that music is a good way of bringing people of different culture and ages together.
Personally, i think music is the way to people's heart. We can express of feeling with the help of music. Music has many types such as sad, happy and many more. I believe it's true that music can connect hearts of two people even if they from different cultures or countries. For example, lets say there are two strangers working in same company never interact with each other but somehow they become close to each other because they have same taste in music. Other example is when an elder person is quite devastated, he's sulking so we can play a happy music for him he'll feel relaxed and we becomes more close.
Additionally, i think music can also have a great impact on our behavior such as when we are sad we loves to hear sad music. It gives us feelings like is also sad for us, they can understand our feelings.
Literally, I agree that music helps us to make friends from different culture, it helps to connect our hearts, share our feeling. And when we share our feelings with others we have a sense of hospitality. We encourage them, the most important thing is we can understand people with the help of music like what kind of person is it, is that person soft, bad or break.
Music helps us to understand many things in life, its encourage us when we are feeling down. In my experience, whenever i am sad and think about falling behind music always motivates me.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by expressing agreement with the idea that music connects people. However, the development of ideas is limited and often repetitive. While you provide examples, such as coworkers bonding over music or using music to comfort an elder, these are somewhat simplistic and lack depth. The essay tends to focus more on personal feelings about music rather than a broader discussion on how it bridges cultural and generational gaps. To improve, you should expand on the 'why' and 'how' of these connections, perhaps discussing shared human experiences or the universal language of melody, rather than just stating that music helps us make friends.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. Transitions between ideas are often mechanical or missing, such as the abrupt shift from the coworker example to the elder example. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes repetitive (e.g., 'Additionally', 'For example'). Furthermore, the referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of your argument. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that builds toward your overall argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express complex ideas. You rely on simple adjectives like 'sad', 'happy', and 'good' throughout the text. There are also some awkward word choices, such as 'is that person soft, bad or break', which impede clarity. While you attempt to use some topic-related vocabulary, it is not used with enough precision or flexibility to demonstrate a higher level of control. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and collocations related to social interaction and emotional expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'they from different cultures'), missing articles, and incorrect pronoun usage (e.g., 'i' should be capitalized). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve your accuracy.
