Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is argued that, music is a nice way of collecting people having different cultures and ages and help than live in peace and harmony together. I completely agree with this view. From my prospective, music does not discriminate any people on cultural believes as music removes the language barrier that most of the people struggle against and help individuals to share their opinion and ideas in a charmful way.
To begin with, I believe that music is such a thing that neglects the language barrier as you don't need to learn and understand any other languages to enjoy music. For example, Despasito, a Spanish song is one of the most listened song in the world but more than half of the people who listen to this song do not even know Spanish language.
In addition to this, I also think music helps people to express their thoughts and ideas to the audience from all around the world. I believe a musician is able to express most of his ideas and opinion while writing his creation. For example, almost all of the singers write a love song for their loved ones to express their affection towards them and showcase how much they meant to them.
In conclusion, music play a vital role in bringing people of different cultures and age groups together as music does not discriminate people having different cultures nor does it differentiate people having different age groups. Furthermore, there is no language barrier in music. Beside, it also helps people to express their ideas and opinion openly to the world in a cheerful way.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of music as a unifying force. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you mention that music transcends cultural and age barriers, the arguments remain quite general. For instance, the example of 'Despacito' is relevant but could be better linked to the idea of 'bringing people together' rather than just 'listening'. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting points are more deeply explored and that you explicitly address the 'age' aspect of the prompt, which is currently mentioned in the introduction and conclusion but lacks specific development in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'In addition to this', and 'In conclusion' to signal transitions. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical. Some sentences are slightly repetitive, particularly in the conclusion where you restate points already made. To improve, try to vary your linking words and ensure that each sentence builds upon the previous one more fluidly, rather than simply listing points.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your meaning, but it is somewhat basic and occasionally imprecise. For example, 'collecting people' is not the standard collocation for bringing people together, and 'charmful' is not a standard English word. You rely on simple descriptors like 'nice' and 'such a thing'. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and collocations. While your meaning is always clear, the lack of sophisticated or 'less common' lexical items limits your score in this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that, while not impeding communication, are noticeable. Examples include 'music does not discriminate any people on cultural believes' (should be 'beliefs'), 'music play a vital role' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'Beside, it also helps' (should be 'Besides'). There are also issues with article usage and preposition choice. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and proofreading for small errors in word forms and pluralization.
