Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this modern era people listening music by across the globe.Certain individuals says that music bring all different cultures and ages people together.I am partially agree with this given statement and reasons for my inclinations are articulated in this following paragraph.

To start with the main reason nowadays people listening music internationally in all kind of language.Because of this it have more opportunities to bring all cultures and ages people together from across the world. To give an example, a famous american singer Ed sheeran's songs famous in whole world and half of the population listening it.As a result it enhance to bring people from all cultures and ages.

The another main reason is that it covers the all kind of cultures and ages because in current trend people would love to listen music from any culture and any stage of age, it dose not matter to listening music. To cite an example,my father and me have age gape of 30 years but we would love to listen some kind of same music. As result it opens extra wide range by age to get people from any kind of ages.

Neverthless, people would to obviously to love listen any kind of singer but it dose not mean that they give approach to them in any information. In addition people need any sociologist to bring together all in one rather than any musicians, For instance my father never believe in any singer who gives motivation speech.

To sum up, there are more opportunities because of music listeners are in any age and any cultures who listen the international music. it brings more opportunities to bring all people from any culture and any ages.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the role of music in bridging cultural and age gaps. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you provide examples like Ed Sheeran and your father, the logic in the third paragraph is somewhat unclear, particularly the counter-argument regarding sociologists, which feels disconnected from the main topic. The position is stated in the introduction, but the supporting arguments lack the depth required for a higher band. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-explained point that directly supports your thesis, and avoid introducing confusing or irrelevant arguments that distract from the main point.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'To start with', 'The another main reason', and 'As result' are used repetitively or incorrectly. The flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'nevertheless') and ensure they are used in the correct context to create a smoother transition between your ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic phrases like 'all kind of cultures' and 'any kind of ages'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'age gape' (age gap) and 'motivation speech' (motivational speech). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of precision and the reliance on simple, repetitive language prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, try to incorporate more specific vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'universal language', 'generational divide', or 'cultural exchange', and pay closer attention to correct word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement ('people listening music', 'it have more opportunities'), missing articles, and incorrect sentence structures. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and missing spaces after periods. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty, which can occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Proofreading your work for these common errors will significantly improve the clarity and accuracy of your writing.
