Student answer (Band 5.5)

The perspective of some people about music that it is an excllent method of making peoples from different cultures and ages come together at a single point . I will strongly support or agree with this ideology because I am also a great fan of music .

The question is how music make this happen ? Actually , music is one of the most presentable entity that a culture can present to promote it . Because music can be used as a medium to represent the language of a country . So , when people from any other country owning other type of culture listen to it they like it and get more curious to learn about that language . Just like me I used to listen spanish music because spanish beats and music fascinated me so much . So , I started to learn about spanish music and culture that make me to met with people of spain . I made new freinds from there .

As far as people of different ages are concerned I would prefarbly say that music is the best way that makes a 20 years old boy sit with a 60 years old adult . Because when he got to listen old age music he also get curious about the classical language used in that music so he questions him about old fashioned music . This shows a very strong intend of music making people of different ages come and sit togther .

Conclusively , I would say that there can not be any other way of making peoples from different ages and different cultures come together and make them unite as much music can do .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of music as a unifying force. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you provide personal examples, such as listening to Spanish music, the explanation of how music bridges cultural and age gaps remains limited. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the 'why' and 'how' with more sophisticated reasoning—for instance, discussing how music transcends linguistic barriers or acts as a shared emotional language. The conclusion is a bit repetitive, restating the thesis without adding new insight. Overall, the ideas are relevant but lack the depth required for a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly awkward. For example, the transition 'Just like me I used to listen...' is informal and lacks a smooth connection to the previous sentence. Additionally, the use of 'So' at the start of sentences is repetitive and informal. While there is a clear progression of ideas, the linking between sentences could be more varied and sophisticated to improve the flow of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range expected at higher levels. You use basic terms like 'excllent' (spelling error), 'good way', and 'best way' repeatedly. There are also issues with word formation and collocation, such as 'presentable entity' and 'strong intend'. To improve, you should focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology. Avoid informal phrasing like '20 years old boy' and '60 years old adult', which sound more like spoken English than formal written discourse.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('music make this happen'), pluralization errors ('peoples', 'freinds'), and incorrect verb forms ('make me to met'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before periods and commas. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and verb tense consistency would be highly beneficial.
