Student answer (Band 5.5)
I agree this statement that music is a good way of bringing different cultures and ages together.
Music is the best way that to bring different people together because music gives majority of the people in the world to connect and understand different cultures and tradition. Music is the only thing in the world by which most of the people understand the motive of the singer or the person who sings the song. I feel without the music, many people in the world could not connect each other and understand their cultures and traditions.
For example; some phonk songs like matsukha can not be understood the lyric but were able to feel the vibe of the song and enjoy. There are many different types of songs in the world, in which the lyric is not understood by many but most of the people are comfortable in listening and are feeling relaxed and were able know the origin of the song. Due to listening and understanding the meaning of the artist, many people in the world will feel the motive and try to be universal all the time.
Different age group people have different priority of songs. Like the senior and old people like to hear to calm music while youth and young people prefer to hear pop and romantic songs. These observations tells us that song or music is the most appropriate and convenient ways to connect different people across the world, make them to feel universal and make them to understand the different religions and many more.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of music as a unifying force. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. While you mention that music connects people across cultures and ages, the supporting arguments are generalized. For instance, the example regarding 'phonk songs' is a bit vague and does not fully explain how this specifically bridges cultural divides. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported point rather than restating the same general idea about 'connection' multiple times. The conclusion is also quite brief and could be more effectively used to summarize your main arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive. Phrases like 'For example' and 'Due to' are used, but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs are sometimes abrupt. The logical progression of ideas is hindered by the repetitive nature of the arguments. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence flows naturally into the next, rather than relying on simple sentence structures that make the text feel disjointed.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good way', 'different', and 'things'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'different priority of songs' and 'make them to feel universal'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the occasional misuse of words limit the score. Try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to music, culture, and social cohesion to demonstrate a broader range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'I agree this statement', 'some phonk songs... can not be understood the lyric', and 'These observations tells us'. Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are inconsistent. While you attempt complex sentences, they often contain errors that affect clarity. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy—specifically verb forms, articles, and sentence construction—will significantly improve your score. Aim to proofread your work to catch these common errors.
