Student answer (Band 5.5)
Music is one of the most beloved way of recreation. There is hardly any people who does not love music. Consequently, it can unit people from all walks of life, an opinion with which I totally agree.
The lyrics of a song may not be understood by all as different people speak in different languages. But almost everyone can feel the rhythm in it. Let say for an example, the FIFA world cup theme song is sung in English. Despite of this fact, listeners from all over the world enjoy it very much. The song spreads the energy and enthusiasm of the tournament to the global population regardless of their culture and ages. Furthermore, it also combines the cultures of the participant countries.
Moreover, there are many other songs that are enjoyed by persons of different ethnicity. To illustrate, we can take count on the Bollywood music. They are not only consumed by people from the countries in the neighborhood of India but also the people of distant nations. They can make anybody dance whether they are children or senior citizens.
Exchange of culture through singing is an amazing trend. It allows one to about another culture. It allows the composers also to express their views and thoughts or represent their national heritage through the lines of a song. But, excessive adaptation of foreign culture can pose a significant threat to one's own culture. Decisively saying, cross culture recursion is good but it should be taken in a boundary.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the response falls just short of the 250-word minimum, which impacts the development of ideas. While the examples of the FIFA World Cup and Bollywood are relevant, the discussion in the final paragraph regarding the 'threat' of foreign culture is somewhat tangential to the core question of whether music brings people together. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your arguments with more depth and ensure every sentence directly supports your central thesis. The under-length penalty is applied here as the response is 249 words.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Consequently,' 'Furthermore,' and 'Moreover' to link your points. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'Decisively saying,' which is not a standard idiomatic phrase. Additionally, the referencing in the final paragraph is a bit abrupt. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the relationship between sentences is always smooth and natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'enthusiasm,' 'ethnicity,' and 'heritage.' However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'beloved way of recreation' (instead of 'forms of recreation'), 'take count on' (instead of 'rely on' or 'look at'), and 'cross culture recursion' (which is not the correct term for cultural exchange). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit your ability to convey more precise meanings. Expanding your vocabulary to include more natural collocations would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout, including subject-verb agreement issues ('There is hardly any people who does not love music' should be 'There are hardly any people who do not love music') and prepositional errors ('Despite of this fact' should be 'Despite this fact'). While these errors are frequent, they rarely impede the reader's understanding. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and common prepositional phrases, and try to incorporate more complex sentence structures with greater accuracy.
