Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which severely limits your ability to develop your ideas. While you state your position clearly in the introduction, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient detail. The second paragraph attempts to provide an example regarding Gujarati music, but it is vague and does not fully explain how this brings different cultures together. The third paragraph is incomplete and ends abruptly, failing to provide a conclusion or a fully formed second argument. To improve, you must expand on your points with specific, illustrative examples and ensure you meet the word count to allow for a full discussion of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear logical progression due to its incomplete nature. While you use some basic cohesive devices like 'primarily' and 'another prominent factor', the flow is disrupted by the unfinished state of the final paragraph. Paragraphing is attempted, but the final paragraph is essentially a sentence fragment. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence, supporting evidence, and a concluding thought. Use a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly, and ensure that every paragraph is fully developed before moving on to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'good way' and 'make people relation'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'generate extra relationship' and 'enjoy that movement' (likely meaning 'moment'). To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary and idiomatic expressions. For example, instead of 'good way', use 'effective medium' or 'powerful tool'. Focus on learning collocations—words that naturally go together—to make your writing sound more natural and academic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'their are number of Gujarati language music is famous' (incorrect subject-verb agreement and structure) and 'who not speaking Gujarati that people also enjoy' (awkward syntax). You rely mostly on simple sentence structures, and your attempts at complex sentences are often grammatically flawed. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Practice writing complex sentences using subordinating conjunctions like 'although', 'because', or 'which' to demonstrate a wider range of grammatical control.
