Student answer (Band 5.0)

Music is a great source of entertainment all over the world. Every person have its own taste some like music and some dislike the music. But i believe that music brings the people together with the help of conserts and happy ceremony like birthday party or celebrations.

The music is great source of expressing your feelings, a large number of singers use their songs to influence their feelings and to tell somethings in their songs. The music used in almost all happy ocasions, music enhance the beauty of your ceremony, it brings the people together of different cultures and different age groups. The concerts which is held by the singers bring thousands of people of different cultures and different age groups and it shows how much people like music.

While on the other hand it bring some bad habits in our minds. Music are of many types like mafia songs, romantic musics and classic music. So different types of song bring different type of habits, like listening of more mafia songs make the person to think like gangsters, so this is not a right thing.

From my prospective, I believe songs are a good way to bring people together, but it depends on us how offer we listen the songs. Use of music in different occasions helps to bring peoples together. Because almost 90% of people all over the world like music so its a good way.

Inconclusion, music should be used in bringing people of different cultures and age groups together .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing how music brings people of different cultures and ages together, and also touches upon potential negative influences. A position is presented, stating that music generally unites people depending on how it is listened to. However, the development of ideas tends to be repetitive and limited, particularly in the second paragraph where the points about concerts and happy occasions are restated without adding fresh support. The counter-argument regarding 'mafia songs' is slightly underdeveloped and shifts focus towards negative behavior rather than fully exploring the nuances of the core prompt. Consequently, the response aligns best with Band 5 descriptors, as the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays some overall organization, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion, though the final word 'Inconclusion' contains a major spelling error. Paragraphing is attempted, but paragraph boundaries and internal links feel somewhat mechanical or faulty. For instance, the transition 'While on the other hand it bring some bad habits' introduces the counter-argument abruptly without smooth cohesive ties. Referencing and pronoun use are occasionally unclear, such as 'it brings the people together' without a precisely defined antecedent. Repetition of phrases like 'different cultures and different age groups' affects the overall progression. These features place the response firmly at Band 5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses a limited, minimally adequate range of vocabulary suitable for expressing basic ideas. Words such as 'entertainment', 'celebrations', and 'concerts' are used appropriately, but attempts at less common vocabulary lead to awkward phrasing or inaccuracies, such as 'happy ceremony', 'mafia songs', and 'romantic musics'. There are also frequent spelling and word-choice errors, including 'conserts', 'ocasions', and 'prospective' instead of 'perspective'. While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding the general meaning, they cause noticeable difficulty and restrict the lexical score to Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writing contains a mix of simple sentence forms and a few attempts at complex sentences, but these attempts are frequently faulty. There are several noticeable grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('Every person have its own taste', 'Music are of many types', 'music bring the people') and missing articles ('with the help of conserts'). Punctuation is also problematic, marked by run-on sentences and comma splices, such as '...people of different cultures and different age groups and it shows how much people like music.' Due to the frequency of basic errors and the limited control over complex grammatical structures, a score of 5.0 is appropriate.
