Student answer (Band 5.5)

It often argued that song is outstanding method of bringing people of different tradations and ages together .I strongly agree with this statement because by listening to different music in foreign language will help people to know about other civilization and also it will help old people to match there vibe with other age group .

The main reason why i agree is that it help us to learn other languages .this is because by learing other people language u can easily understand other person feelings .It will create a respect bond between both of you . For instance, nowadays, people from diffrent areas or region are taking intrest in other region music or a country they want to visit they start listening to there music .

Another reason is that it help old ages people to match there vibe with young ages people to listen to the famous music in that way they came in touch with young ones . For example, Music festivals , local culture where grandparents, teenager, and international tourists all enjoy the same stage. Furthermore,by sharing musical experiences create instant conections. Because live concerts, festivals, and street performaces gather strangers of different ages and background in the same space .

In conclusion , i strongly agree that music is an effective way of uniting people from different traditions and age groups . Its universal language of melody and rhythm allows individuals to connect emotionally, regardless of background or generation. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing how music brings people of different cultures and ages together, presenting a clear overall position that strongly agrees with the statement. Ideas are extended with relevant examples, such as mentioning music festivals and grandparents enjoying the same stage. However, some arguments lack deep development and contain minor generalisations, placing this firmly at Band 6.0. The ideas presented are relevant and directly answer the prompt, though the expansion of certain points like language learning and bridging generational gaps could be more thoroughly fleshed out to reach higher bands. The writer successfully maintains a consistent perspective from the introduction through to the conclusion, ensuring that the central thesis remains clear throughout the entire essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay has a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, moving logically from an introduction to body paragraphs discussing different themes, and ending with a distinct conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'The main reason why i agree', 'Another reason is that', and 'In conclusion', though referencing and transitional links are occasionally mechanical or slightly faulty (e.g., 'this is because by learing other people language'). Paragraphing is utilised sufficiently and appropriately to group related ideas together, such as grouping live concerts and street performances in the third body paragraph. Despite some minor slips in the flow of cohesive links, the logical progression remains sufficiently clear throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'universal language', 'melody and rhythm', and 'diverse communities'. However, there are noticeable lexical and spelling inaccuracies throughout the text, such as 'tradations' instead of traditions, 'learing' instead of learning, and 'powerfull' instead of powerful. Word choices are sometimes awkward or imprecise, such as 'old ages people' and 'young ages people'. While these errors do not severely impede communication and the vocabulary is adequate to convey the intended meaning, the frequency of spelling slips and minor collocation issues prevents the response from achieving a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating structures such as 'It often argued that...' and 'The main reason why i agree is that...'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation issues, including missing articles ('It often argued', 'in foreign language'), missing subjects or verbs, and capitalization errors (e.g., lowercase 'i' used for the pronoun 'I', missing spaces before punctuation marks). Complex sentence attempts often contain structural flaws, such as 'Furthermore,by sharing musical experiences create instant conections'. These errors require some effort to decode at times, though they do not completely obscure the core message, making Band 5.5 an appropriate reflection of the current grammatical control.
