Student answer (Band 5.0)
Music is discovered in 40,000 to 50,000 years ago and it is invented by anthropoligists belive early humans used the human voice and rhythmic body movements long before recorded history they found flutes made from brid bones and mammoth ivory in Europe that date back at least 40,000 years. The oldest known written melody is Hurrian Hymn craved into clay tablet in syria around the 14th century BCE.
I strongly belive that music is the only way is left in this selfish and busy generation who makes humans happy and stressfree furthermore music has many benefits which is related to our mindset, concentration, relaxing, release stress, making happy, and a some sort of escape form the problems in the mind. In my openion, music is the best way to bring people of different traditions and age groups. Yes i agree with this statement because music help me the most in my weak moments as well as strong times music help me to be focused on my golas and make me happy when i am stressful.
The survey in 2004, the researchers found that music is the second language which most of the people use in their daily life and music is listen by olds to comapre with young generation because when they listen the music they get flashback of their old times.
It is justified to say that music has to be promoted among world wide because in this busy generation pople have to make any path to be happy and make their daily life stress free.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position regarding whether music brings people together across cultures and ages. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and includes irrelevant historical background information in the introduction, such as the mention of anthropologists, flutes made from bird bones, and the Hurrian Hymn, which detracts from the main argument. The main body attempts to cover benefits such as stress relief and personal happiness, and touches briefly on how older generations connect with the past through music. While the position is stated, the arguments are somewhat underdeveloped and over-generalized, placing the response firmly at a Band 5.0 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5
The essay lacks clear logical organisation and proper paragraphing, with multiple distinct ideas crammed into a single massive block of text in the second paragraph. Cohesive devices are minimal, repetitive, or mechanically deployed, such as the excessive use of 'and' and run-on sentences connected without punctuation. There is a noticeable lack of clear overall progression between the historical introduction, the personal reflection, and the concluding remarks. Referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logical flow of arguments. These issues align with a Band 4.5 to 5.0 descriptor, leaning towards 4.5 due to severely deficient paragraphing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses a basic and repetitive vocabulary range appropriate for simple communication, with several noticeable spelling and word choice errors. Examples include 'anthropoligists', 'belive', 'craved' instead of carved, 'syria', 'openion', 'golas', 'comapre', and 'pople'. There are also awkward collocations and phrasing like 'selfish and busy generation', 'making happy', and 'release stress'. While some attempts are made to use broader terms, the frequent lexical errors and limited control over less common vocabulary restrict the score to a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
Grammatical control is weak throughout the essay, characterised by run-on sentences, comma splices, and a lack of proper punctuation. For instance, the opening sentence 'Music is discovered in 40,000 to 50,000 years ago and it is invented by anthropoligists belive early humans used...' strings multiple independent clauses together without correct subordination or punctuation. There are frequent errors in verb tense, subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'music is listen by olds'), and sentence boundaries that impede understanding. Complex structures are attempted but are almost always faulty. This corresponds to a Band 4.5.
