Student answer (Band 5.0)
it is often argued that music is a good way of bringing people of different cultures and ages together, while some people belive that music not a good method to bringing individuals of other cultured and diffrent age group. i belive that music can obtain people from sevral cultures and ages. because curently music have i siginificant impact on people ,and i think it like a religion in people views.
One important reason why i hold this view is that the internet has turned the world into a global village. This is because it connects people instantly regardless of geographic distance. This constant connectivity has made it far easier to build relationships and conduct business across borders. For example, someone in Egypt can video call a friend in Japan within seconds.
Another significant factor to consider is that begin with, international music promotes cross-cultural understanding. This is because direct exposure to different customs reduces stereotypes and misunderstanding. This firsthand experience often proves far more effective at building empathy than reading or watching from a distance. For example, students who study abroad often return with greater empathy for other cultures.
In conclusion although i agree with that some people say that music is a good way of bringing people of different cultures and ages together

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt regarding whether music brings people of different cultures and ages together, but it fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, containing only 214 words. Consequently, this penalises the task achievement score. The student takes a clear position, stating 'i belive that music can obtain people from sevral cultures and ages', but the development of ideas is severely limited. Furthermore, the body paragraphs diverge into irrelevant discussions about the internet and globalization rather than staying focused on music. For instance, the second body paragraph discusses Egypt and Japan via video calling instead of musical connection. Because parts of the task are underdeveloped and the word count is unmet, the response aligns closely with Band 5 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay displays some overall organization with transitional phrases like 'One important reason' and 'In conclusion', but the progression breaks down due to irrelevant supporting details. Paragraphing is attempted, but the conclusion is incomplete and abruptly ends mid-sentence ('In conclusion although i agree with that some people say that music is a good way of bringing people of different cultures and ages together'). Cohesive devices are sometimes used mechanically, such as repeating 'This is because', and referencing is occasionally unclear. There is a lack of smooth transitions between the disparate ideas of internet connectivity and musical cultural exchange, placing this performance at Band 5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with frequent spelling errors ('belive', 'cultured', 'diffrent', 'sevral', 'curently', 'siginificant') and awkward word choices like 'obtain people' instead of 'bring people together'. There is an attempt to use some less common words like 'significant' and 'empathy', but inaccurate word forms and spelling mistakes ('begin with' used incorrectly as a connector) impede communication at times. The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for the task, which corresponds to a Band 5 level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but attempts at complex structures frequently contain grammatical errors. Examples include capitalization issues at the start of sentences ('it is often...', 'i belive...'), run-on sentences ('because curently music have i siginificant impact on people ,and i think it like a religion in people views'), and subject-verb agreement errors ('music have', 'misunderstanding' instead of plural). Punctuation is faulty, and the incomplete concluding sentence demonstrates poor grammatical control over sentence boundaries. Frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader, fitting the Band 5 descriptor.
