Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent times, several people share a thought that, music is way better option to bring people of different ages and cultures together. I partially agree with the given statement as, music is a famous and loved activity among the world, and usually people like music from various traditions, but at the same time, many people have their personal taste in music.
Initially, music is a very old traditional practice and is liked by mostly individuals. Technology advancements have various benefits, and one of them is very beneficial for music industries. Secondly, internet is the most easiest way to gather people together with the help of the music. The age gap also plays a crucial role in music. For instance, the teenagers listens to the songs which are faster and newer, like rap or a dance song, whereas, elder individuals listens to a slow or love song which belongs to their time. Despite this there are some music which is loved by all group ages and people from different cultures also listen to those types of songs.
However, several individuals have their personal taste, which is unique from others. Some people listen to music either for relaxation or mental peace, while others like to share their music taste with others , and vibe on that. There are many problems with listening music from different cultures or different time, either not having interest in listening to that or mismatch in the music taste with other people.
In conclusion, music can isolate people just easily as it unites them. Music is a great way to reduce the generational gaps between people and bringing people from different cultures together. While some listens to music for their mental peace or to isolate them from rest of the people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both sides of whether music brings people of different cultures and ages together, and presents a partial agreement position. The ideas are relevant and generally supported, though some arguments, such as the mention of technological advancements, are somewhat underdeveloped and tangential to the core theme. The conclusion attempts to summarize the viewpoint, though it contains fragmented phrasing. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, placing it firmly at a Band 6.0 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a distinct introduction, body paragraphs addressing different angles, and a conclusion. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by mechanical or repetitive cohesive devices, such as the overuse of transition words like 'Initially', 'Secondly', and 'Despite this'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'Despite this there are some music which is loved...', which affects the overall flow. Paragraphing is present and generally appropriate, leading to a Band 6.0 score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common collocations such as 'technological advancements' and 'personal taste'. However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation inaccuracies throughout the text, such as 'music is way better option', 'the teenagers listens', and 'vibe on that'. Spelling and word formation are generally accurate, but the occasional lexical errors restrict the score to a Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over structure. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the teenagers listens', 'some listens'), missing articles (e.g., 'listen to music either for relaxation'), and awkward relative clauses. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they occur regularly enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band, resulting in a score of 5.5.
