on one hand music varies generation to generation . the music taste of teenagers and old adults is completely different. now days teenagers like hip hop songs and old adults strongly dislike them. however, the vocals, rythmn of new generation music is completely different from old adults . by this comparison of music taste this does not make them unite.
on other hand music is a source of bringing different ages people to unite . during different religious and cultural festivals music helps different peoples to unite.
for instance during music concert a thousand of peoples unite of different ages at a same place and enjoy together

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The student attempts to address the prompt regarding whether music brings people of different cultures and ages together, presenting a somewhat disjointed opinion. However, a significant issue is the length requirement, as the response contains only 149 words, falling well short of the mandatory 250-word minimum for Task 2. Consequently, the ideas are severely underdeveloped, lacking the necessary extension and support expected for an Academic essay. The position is stated in the introduction and conclusion, but the arguments remain superficial and lack sufficient examples or depth. Due to the severe under-length penalty and limited development of ideas, this performance aligns closely with Band 4.0 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is organised into brief paragraphs with some attempts at transitional markers such as "on one hand", "however", and "for instance". However, the overall logical progression is frequently disrupted by abrupt shifts in thought and underdeveloped arguments. Paragraphing is attempted, but individual paragraphs are exceptionally short and lack internal cohesion. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the ambiguous pronoun use in "by this comparison of music taste this does not make them unite". While there is an underlying structure attempting to argue both sides, the mechanical use of cohesive devices and the lack of a smooth flow place this text firmly within the Band 5.0 category.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple terms like "music", "people", "ages", and "different". There are noticeable inappropriate word choices, such as "civilization" instead of "cultures" and "a best way" instead of "the best way". Spelling and word-form errors also occur, such as "rythmn" and "peoples" (used as a plural noun). Although the writer attempts some less common vocabulary items like "hip hop songs" and "cultural festivals", the overall lexical range is limited and minimally adequate. Communication is generally maintained despite the errors, making this characteristic of a Band 5.0 performance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent structural errors. Examples of faulty grammar include missing articles and incorrect prepositions, such as "music varies generation to generation" and "different ages people". Punctuation is also problematic, marked by stray single quotation marks used instead of full stops or commas, and a general absence of standard capitalization at the beginning of sentences (e.g., "some individuals say..."). Attempts at complex sentences often result in awkward phrasing and errors that cause some difficulty for the reader. These persistent inaccuracies and limited structural variety reflect a Band 4.5 level, rounded to 5.0.
