Student answer (Band 5.5)
Despite rapidly progressing in the field of music and its pshycological impacts, some people still argue that music is the best way of bringing people of various cultures and ages together. I partly agree with this stance that music can be a source of strenghting the bonds between different generations. However, It can raise multiple disputes among people who belong to different cultures.
The primary driving factor of this concept that influences the people is that music can provide a strong linking system to connect the people of diverse traditions and different ages. In addition, by listening songs and anthems, people can connect themselves with nations, with a greater devotion. A clear illustration of this is provided by several state authorities, who have implemented the strategy of strengthing relationship among their citizens of different ages and cultures by using national music and songs. Therefore, some people believe that music can be a good option for bringing diverse people together.
Conversely, music can be the major concern for the emergence of various conflicts among people of different ages and cultures. These issues can arise due to the preference of music, as it varies from young to old age person and among different traditions. For instance, developing countries are suffering from poor socio-economic conditions which are introduced by disputes, which were emerge due to different music taste among generations and culltures.
Although I agree that music can strength relations among poeple of different ages and regions; however, I believe that it can be a source of limiting socio-sconomic growth of a country due the dispute arise due to the preference of music consumption.
To conclude, according to some people, listening same sort of music can be beneficial as it can redcue the generation gaps. However, from my perspective, it can also introduce multiple conflicts in a society reagrding music taste.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both sides of whether music brings people together across cultures and ages. The writer presents a clear position, stating a partial agreement, and supports this with arguments about generational bonding and potential cultural disputes. However, the development of ideas lacks depth in places, particularly regarding how cultural disputes arise from music, which tends to be somewhat generalized and repetitive. For instance, the mention that developing countries suffer from socio-economic conditions caused by music tastes lacks logical substantiation. Nevertheless, all parts of the task are addressed, earning a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay is logically organized into an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, establishing a clear progression overall. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'Conversely,' 'In addition,' and 'To conclude,' though some referencing is mechanical or slightly imprecise. For instance, 'the primary driving factor of this concept that influences the people' is wordy and slightly clunky. While the logical flow is generally maintained, some transitions and cohesive relationships between sentences could be smoother, aligning best with a Band 6.0 descriptor.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, attempting some less common phrases such as 'socio-economic conditions,' 'generation gaps,' and 'diverse traditions.' However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'pshycological' (psychological), 'strenghting' (strengthening), 'listening songs' (listening to songs), 'culltures' (cultures), 'redcue' (reduce), and 'reagrding' (regarding). Additionally, awkward collocations like 'linking system' appear. Because these errors do not severely impede overall communication, but noticeably impact precision, the response achieves a Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures like conditional and subordinate clauses (e.g., 'Although I agree that music can strength relations...'). However, there is a high frequency of grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms, prepositions, and sentence fragments or run-on structures. Examples include 'disputes, which were emerge' (which emerged), 'due the dispute arise' (due to disputes arising), and missing articles or incorrect verb agreement ('young to old age person'). While meaning is generally clear despite these issues, the density of errors keeps the score at a Band 5.0.
