Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is believed by some people that music is a best way to bringing people of type of culture and different ages together. I partially agree with this statement. This essay will discuss and explain how people get together and why some not.
On the one hand according to some people music is a convenient way to people get together of different cultures and ages. Firstly, some musics have vibe of jointness and love so people like that type of musics. Furthermore, some singers released jointness musics among other individuals so peoeple become influence and start behave poliotely with others. Secondly, on special ocassions music is necessary so people of different ages dance together everyone fun together and even share their feelings.
On the other hand, music also take a several drawbacks in cultures and ages. The taste of music young generation and old generation quitely different because old age people want to listen traditional songs which they like in their own times and young generation want to listen new musics such as beat musics, raps and high bass. Therefore, at that time it is impossible for individuals to get together. Scondly, some artists or singers spread negativity among different cultures and languages so people start fighting and sometimes they also target others through music. Controversy also take place in the artists and local people which spread resistence.
In conclusion, people get together of they listen good musics and take it normally. However, "if" individuals listen controversial musics and take it serious so it is very hard to bringing people of different cultures and ages together.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the unifying and divisive aspects of music across cultures and ages, presenting a clear partial position. Ideas are introduced and supported with explanations, such as the generation gap in musical tastes and the influence of controversial artists. However, some arguments remain underdeveloped and rely on generalisations rather than specific examples. For instance, the discussion on how music creates 'jointness' is vague and repetitive. The position is maintained throughout the essay, meeting the criteria for Band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an overall logical progression. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate contrasting viewpoints. However, cohesion at the sentence level is often mechanical and faulty, with repetitive transitions like 'Firstly' and 'Secondly'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the phrase 'why some not' in the introduction. While the overall arrangement is coherent, the overuse of awkward cohesive ties and imprecise referencing keeps this criterion at a Band 5.5 to 6 level; a Band 6 is awarded as the overall progression is clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The lexical resource is limited and displays noticeable errors. The writer attempts less common vocabulary, such as 'controversy', 'generations', and 'resistance', but struggles with word choice, collocation, and word formation. Examples of errors include 'music is a best way to bringing', 'jointness musics', and 'quitely different'. There are also frequent spelling and grammatical form issues ('poliotely', 'ocassions', 'Scondly'). While the vocabulary is adequate to communicate the basic message, the frequent errors in word formation and collocation constrain the score to Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent errors in verb forms, articles, and sentence architecture, such as 'music also take a several drawbacks', 'people get together of they listen good musics', and missing subjects or auxiliary verbs ('young generation and old generation quitely different'). Punctuation and conditional structures are also misused, as seen in the final paragraph. Because errors are frequent across both simple and complex sentences and occasionally impede smooth reading, this aligns with a Band 5.0 descriptor.
