Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt partially, expressing a clear general agreement that music brings people of different cultures and ages together, but it falls short of the required 250-word minimum, containing only 219 words. The ideas presented are limited and remain under-developed. For instance, the mention of people aged 15 building confidence and those over 50 avoiding stress is introduced abruptly without adequate explanation or support. While a personal experience is attempted near the end to illustrate the point about overcoming stress through music, the overall exploration of how music bridges cultural and generational divides lacks sufficient extension and depth, which keeps the task response at this level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response lacks clear overall progression and organization. The writing is structured as one continuous, unbroken block of text without paragraphing, which makes the flow difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are largely absent or repetitive, relying heavily on conjunctions like 'and' and 'then' to string clauses together rather than using appropriate signposting language. Furthermore, referencing is frequently unclear, such as the sudden shift into a personal narrative mid-sentence using the phrase 'go back into 2022 in june i went to on trip naran'. Information and ideas are not arranged into a coherent structure, leading to a disjointed reading experience.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for expressing basic thoughts, featuring noticeable errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. The student attempts some topic-related words such as 'culture', 'environment', and 'traditional', but these are accompanied by frequent word-choice and spelling errors, such as 'beacuse', 'donot', 'strees', and 'continuesly'. There is also misuse of word forms, such as 'bringing of different culture' instead of 'bringing people together', and repetitive use of basic terms. While the meaning can sometimes be pieced together, the restricted lexical range and persistent errors constrain the precision and fluency of the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, consisting mostly of simple sentences or poorly linked compound structures. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to severe structural breakdowns, such as in the opening line 'Thankyou for ask me that kind of question.' Frequent errors in verb forms, tenses, subject-verb agreement, and articles are present throughout the text, including 'age not matter for strees', 'the people age 15 need to took part', and 'who is less talk with other'. Punctuation is also poorly handled, with run-on sentences joined by multiple conjunctions. These frequent errors cause considerable difficulty and strain for the reader.
