Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is an undeniable fact that music is getting popular in recent years. Some people say that music is a good way of bringing people of different cultures and ages together. I completely agree with this notion not because this is a good source of communication but also help people to create good relation with each other and share their meaningfull ideas. However, Some people disagree with this. This eassy will explore how music is benefical way of bringing people together.

To commence with, one of the major reason which compelled me to agree with this statement is it assit people to communicate with each other while having a massive divergence of culture and age gap between them. People learn about distinctive cultures sharing their opinions. For example, In germany various individuals come from different countries and music is the only way that connect them.

Another, prime reason is by listening to music people feel more confident because it has become a universal language. A person can deeply connect with the emotions and it effortly bridges different culture. It also assist to lessen the gap between ages. For instance, In recent years people listen to music in other language but they do not understand a single from that musie but they are deeply connected with the emotions of the singer.

In my percepective, I totaly agree with this statement because music has becom a universal language in world that make people to talk to each other making them confident and reduce there gap of cultures and also ages

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

It must first be noted that the length requirement was not met, as the response contains only 240 words, falling short of the 250-word minimum (with 18 words copied from the prompt uncounted). Regarding task fulfillment, the response addresses the prompt only partially. While you take a clear position agreeing that music brings people of different cultures and ages together, your ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, your first body paragraph touches on cultural divergence and mentions Germany, but this example is superficial and lacks specific explanation. Furthermore, the counter-argument is introduced abruptly without proper integration or development, reflecting the characteristics of this band level where main parts of the prompt are touched upon rather than thoroughly explored.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation present in your writing, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, which shows an attempt to structure your essay. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas throughout the text. Cohesive devices are sometimes inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'To commence with' and 'Another, prime reason is'. Additionally, referencing and paragraph transitions can be mechanical, leading to disjointed connections between sentences. For example, the sentence 'However, Some people disagree with this' feels isolated and lacks logical flow into the surrounding context. Improving your transitions and ensuring that each paragraph builds smoothly upon the previous one will help you achieve a more coherent and logical progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your vocabulary range is limited but minimally adequate to convey your basic message about music. You attempt to use less common vocabulary, such as 'divergence', 'universal language', and 'benefical', but this results in noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form—for example, misspelling 'benefical' and 'eassy', and awkward phrasing like 'share their meaningfull ideas'. These lexical inaccuracies occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, you should focus on expanding your range of appropriate vocabulary, paying closer attention to standard collocations, and checking your spelling carefully before finalising your essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You demonstrate a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on basic patterns with frequent errors when attempting more complex constructions. There are notable issues with verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and articles throughout your text, such as 'music is getting popular' instead of 'becoming popular', 'one of the major reason' instead of 'reasons', and 'reduce there gap' instead of 'their'. Additionally, punctuation and preposition use within grammatical patterns show frequent errors that can cause some difficulty and hesitation for the reader. To move up, you need to increase your control over complex sentence forms and eliminate basic grammatical slips through careful proofreading.
