Student answer (Band 5.0)
Music a good way to bring people of different cultures and ages together. Music plays an important role to bringing people closer because it gathers the people at one place and allows them to feel free and happy. It does not have age and culture's barrier.
I totally agreed with this statement because when people are listening the music they just devoted themselves in music. For example, when people go to bar club there is no difference between them and people of different cultures and ages are dancing or enjoying the music with each other. They just focused to the musician's art and also want to make themselves relaxed. Rather than that, I think it's a great idea like to play music if you wanna bring people closer to each other because at the end all cultures are linked with music.
To some extent i disagreed because some people are not fond of listening music. They don't enjoy the music . Actually,in this situation they just want to get rid of this. It makes them frustated. For example, if there is Muslim community you want to bring it closer. So,in there is a restriction on listening and playing music. So,in my prospective its totally hilarious to play music infront of them.
there is also a problem. Nowadays, music is divided into different categories like popshow, Jazz and etc.So, if a person does not like the music you played its become a trouble for you. Because every culture has its own means.
In conclusion, its my humble opinion play music which suits for all individuals present at that time like something that makes you happy and if a community don't like music. So,don't start a music to engage them.It results in opposite side and may cause a serious disadvantage.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the task partially, presenting a position that shifts between agreeing and disagreeing, which makes the overall stance somewhat unclear. Relevant ideas are introduced, such as music bringing people together in social settings, but they remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the mention of bar clubs or Muslim communities lacks detailed extension and relies on basic assertions rather than fully articulated examples. To move beyond this level, the writer needs to maintain a consistent, clear position throughout and develop each main idea with well-supported arguments and fully explored examples that directly answer all parts of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organisation with paragraphs attempting to address different facets of the topic, but the response lacks a clear overall progression. Cohesive devices are used mechanically or inaccurately, such as repetitive transitions like 'For example' and awkward connectors including 'Rather than that' and 'So, in my prospective'. Paragraphing is also somewhat erratic, with body paragraphs split into very short sections that disrupt the logical flow of ideas. To achieve a higher level, the writer must ensure a more fluid progression of thoughts, use a wider variety of cohesive ties accurately without overusing them, and group sentences into coherent, well-structured paragraphs.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'frustated', 'hilarious', and 'disadvantage', but these demonstrate noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Phrases like 'make themselves relaxed' and 'start a music' lack natural phrasing. To improve in this area, the student should focus on expanding their range of functional vocabulary, paying closer attention to exact word forms, accurate collocations, and correct spelling to ensure smoother and more precise communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response relies on a limited range of sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors involving article omission and misuse, incorrect prepositions, and faulty verb forms, such as 'when people are listening the music', 'focused to the musician's art', and 'a community don't like music'. Punctuation and subject-verb agreement also show consistent lapses that can cause strain for the reader. To lift this criterion, the writer needs to demonstrate a greater variety of complex grammatical structures while improving accuracy in basic grammar patterns, plurals, and verb agreements.
