Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that music can connect people across cultures and age groups, and both body paragraphs address these two parts of the question. The examples—a survey about learning cultures through music and a concert attended by different age groups—are relevant. However, the explanations are uneven and sometimes unclear. The first paragraph asserts that people can learn about other nations through music, but does not explain what they might learn or how this creates connection. The concert example is more specific, yet its link to bringing generations together could be developed further. The conclusion repeats the main points rather than drawing them together. Explain the mechanisms behind each claim and make the examples more precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs covering different reasons, and a conclusion. The progression from cultural connection to connection between age groups is logical, and signposts such as “To commence with” and “On the other hand” help identify the paragraph roles. However, some linking is mechanical, and the relationship between sentences is not always clear. For example, “Some famous listen by people in all the world” does not clearly connect to the preceding point, while “So youngester learn their elder's past” needs a clearer explanation of the link. The conclusion also introduces ideas about happiness and enjoyment without integrating them into the argument. Use clearer references and connect each example directly to its main claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “different cultures,” “age group,” “background,” and “present time,” so the main ideas can generally be understood. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “logically sound” and “subsequent paragraphs.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts difficult to follow: “music can play in every country,” “everybody like to listen music,” and “learn about past” are not natural expressions. Spelling errors such as “consert,” “youngester,” and “backgroud” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of natural topic phrases and check spelling; prefer precise expressions such as “music is popular worldwide” and “learn about earlier generations.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including “People can learn the culture of different nations through the music” and a sentence beginning “For instance.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction occur in several places. For example, “music make together every age group” needs a correctly formed verb and structure, while “all age groups people were there” has an unclear noun phrase. The introduction also contains the incomplete construction “My views regarding the statement to be greater extent.” Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences, then add subordinate clauses only when their grammar is secure. Check articles and plural forms during editing.
