Student answer (Band 5.5)

Several individuals believe that music is a wonderful method to bring people from different cultures and ages together. In my opinion, I completely agree with this statement because music is one of the most significant things that every person can listen.

On the one hand, the one firmly reason is that all over the world people can using social media and they can listen every type of music. They feel more comfortable about their favourite music whether it is no related their culture, but they like this music, therefore every body understanding emotion as well as they can also aware for different culture. For instance, nowadays many citizens are listening English songs, therefore they understanding rhythm and feeling about anything. At the results, many people share our perspective about anything, so that's why people are involve one group.

On the other hand, when a music are viral in the social media, so every person can listen to this and it's not depend they can understand language. For example, at the present, Arabic songs are viral on the social media so every person can listen this can feel more comfortable about that. Furthermore, social media apps such as Tiktok, instagram are every person can use and create a reels about the viral songs and so definitely music can bringing people together.

In conclusion, In my view, I strongly agree because music are one of the most crucial things that people listen all over the world and they can share our emotions about music and every person can respect the other person feeling.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that music can connect people across cultures and ages. You give relevant examples, including people listening to English songs and Arabic songs becoming popular online, and you explain that shared listening can create common feelings. However, the response addresses the task only partially because the discussion focuses mainly on cultural differences and social media; the age aspect in the question is not explained or illustrated. Several points are also under-developed: for example, you say listeners “share our perspective,” but do not show how this happens or why it brings people together. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation and a specific example, and address both cultures and generations directly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas generally relate to the topic. However, progression within the paragraphs is not always clear, and linking expressions are sometimes repetitive or awkward. In the first body paragraph, “therefore” and “so that's why” repeat the same cause-and-effect link, while “At the results” does not clearly connect the preceding point to the conclusion. The second paragraph also moves quickly from viral songs to social-media apps and reels without fully explaining the connection. Use fewer, more accurate linking phrases and organise each paragraph around one main reason, followed by explanation and an example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “cultures,” “favourite music,” “viral,” “emotions” and “social media.” However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, particularly “people,” “music” and “listen.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “the one firmly reason,” “aware for different culture” and “people are involve one group.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Build a wider set of natural expressions for describing shared interests and cultural exchange, and check how words combine in English. For example, use “a strong reason,” “become aware of other cultures” and “be brought together as a group.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses with “because,” “when” and “whether,” but complex structures are often inaccurate, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “every person can using,” “a music are viral,” “it’s not depend” and “music are one of the most crucial things”; these show problems with verb forms, agreement and sentence construction. Articles and plural forms are also inconsistent, as in “listen every type of music.” Aim first for accurate basic sentences, then add subordinate clauses and check that each subject matches its verb. Reading sentences aloud and proofreading specifically for verb forms and agreement would help make your meaning clearer.
