Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you agree that music brings people together, and you address both cultural and age-related connections. The examples of large live concerts and the FIFA opening ceremony are relevant, while the discussion of music expressing cultural identity supports your main point. This gives the response a solid, relevant answer to the question. However, the age aspect is mentioned in the introduction but is not developed in the body, and several claims—such as music creating love and sympathy—would be more convincing with a specific example or explanation. To strengthen the response further, develop how people of different generations share music, and explain the examples rather than relying on broad statements.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an identifiable structure, moving from an introduction to supporting points and a concluding paragraph. Ideas about shared emotions, concerts and cultural expression are generally relevant and can be followed. However, progression within the body is not always clear: the discussion shifts from scientific research to concerts, then FIFA, and then cultural identity without clearly showing how each point builds on the previous one. Repeated references to music bringing people together also limit the development. Use separate, focused paragraphs—for example, one on shared experiences across generations and another on cultural understanding—and connect each example explicitly to the argument. More precise referencing and a wider range of linking expressions would make the organisation easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “live concerts,” “emotions,” “cultural differences” and “representing a culture.” These choices make your central ideas understandable, and phrases such as “connect their thoughts” show an attempt to express abstract points. However, the range is limited by repeated use of “music,” “people,” “different” and “understand,” while some word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “on same page” and “in apite of.” There are also spelling and word-form slips, including “felling” and “fellings,” which reduce precision. Aim to use more specific terms for the effects of music and check spelling and collocations carefully; this would make the argument more fluent and exact.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the explanation beginning “Music is not only a song or vibration” and the sentence about concerts bringing large crowds together. The main meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in sentence boundaries, articles, agreement and punctuation occur across the response. For example, “since ancient times. It” needs a space and clearer sentence separation, while “on same ground” is missing an article. In “Every culture carries a specific kind of music representing their,” the reference and sentence structure are incomplete. Review article use, pronoun agreement and punctuation, and practise building longer sentences around one clear main clause. Greater control of these patterns would make your ideas easier to read.
