Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people say that music is a good way of bringing people of different cultures and ages togather.

In my opinion, it is true that beat of music can gather people of diferent culture. Human soul can understand music type no matter in which language is it. For example it is very obvious to understand a sad english music for a non english people.Because music is not about lyrics or language it is about rythym.Even in Pakistan local punjabi music is very popular in saraiki people that is a totally different culture.

Moreover it is also true that age is just a number in field of music.Music goes directly to heart and soul.If you have a malencholic personality you would like sad classical songs in all age and similarly all malencholic personalities of all age group would like sad /classical songs.

Moreover music is a great sorce of expression. That all feelings we dont share with anyone, can be expressed through music.

Different concert is also a proof of this statement. All age group are actively participated in concerts and enjoy the music togather.Even they socially interact with eachother. They make new friends there and make lot of memories togather.

Thats why in point of view music is a good way of bringing people of different cultures and ages togather.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall opinion that music can connect people across cultures and ages, and you support it with relevant examples, such as Punjabi music being popular among Saraiki people and people of different ages meeting at concerts. However, the response addresses the task only partially because several points are asserted rather than explained: the example about sad music, for instance, does not show clearly how music brings people together. The conclusion repeats your position but does not add a developed summary. The response is 188 words, below the required 250; the 30 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop each main reason with a specific explanation or example, and ensure the response meets the minimum length.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable structure: it introduces your view, gives reasons and examples, and ends with a conclusion. Paragraph breaks also help separate the discussion of culture, age, expression and concerts. However, progression between ideas is limited, and several points feel like separate claims rather than parts of a connected argument. “Moreover” is repeated to introduce new ideas, while links between sentences are sometimes unclear—for example, the move from personality and sad songs to music as expression. Some sentences run together without adequate punctuation, making the flow harder to follow. Group related ideas into fewer, more developed paragraphs and use clear references and varied linking phrases to show how each example supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a small range of relevant vocabulary, including “different cultures,” “expression,” “concerts,” and “socially interact,” so the main topic is generally clear. There are also attempts at more expressive language, such as “goes directly to heart and soul.” However, the range is limited and several spelling errors or imprecise phrases are noticeable, including “togather,” “diferent,” “sorce,” and “melencholic.” Some combinations are awkward, such as “beat of music can gather people” and “sad english music.” These issues reduce precision and can make the reader pause. Build a bank of accurate topic vocabulary and check spelling; prefer natural phrases such as “music can unite people” and “listeners from different backgrounds.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer structures, including “Even in Pakistan local Punjabi music is very popular in Saraiki people that is a totally different culture.” This shows an effort to explain and give examples, but the sentence structure is often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “All age group are actively participated” combines an incorrect subject–verb form with an unsuitable passive construction; “no matter in which language is it” has incorrect word order; and “That all feelings we dont share with anyone, can be expressed through music” is not formed as a complete, clear sentence. Punctuation and spacing are also inconsistent. Practise accurate basic clauses first, then build longer sentences with correct word order, articles, agreement and punctuation.
