Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is widely believed that music is a good way of bringing people togather of different cultures and ages togather. I firmly believed that this statement is right on the money because music breaks the language barrier and connect people emotionally.
There's a famous proverb, Music is the food for the soul.
Music is beyond the lyrics and language. It is oftenly observed that people like the specific music even when they dont understand the lyrics.Through specific tone and rhyms people are connected by music. For example a sad or classical song is popular in melancholic person. So all the melancholic personalities will be attracted towards the sad song.Similarly a euphoric personality will be attracted towards the excited song no matter from which culture they belong.
The true example of this is Coke Studio and Kpop,Koreon music. At local level one another example is Sami Meri War which is Punjabi music but very popular in all over Pakistan
Moreover different concert highly depicts that music brings all age and people togather.
People also make emotional relation there and feel safe and emotionally secured.
Music covers the genaration gap and brings people closer of different age group. For example in family gathering. marriage function or school function the main gathering consists of all age group e.g children, adults and old age. They all enjoy the beat togather and forget about their age group. In that way they feel relaxed and happy.
In conclusion I firmly believed that music is an effective tool to bring people togather of different ages and cultures.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear, consistent position: you firmly agree that music can connect people across cultures and ages. The response addresses both parts of the question, with relevant examples such as Coke Studio, K-pop, a Punjabi song popular in Pakistan, and family or school gatherings. However, several points are asserted rather than explained—for instance, the link between personality and musical preference is not clearly shown to prove cross-cultural connection, and the concert example is only briefly mentioned. The conclusion restates your view but does not add a developed final insight. The response is 247 words, three words below the 250-word minimum; the nine words copied from the task prompt are not counted. Develop each example more fully and ensure the response meets the required length.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, supporting points, examples, and a conclusion. The ideas generally follow a relevant order, moving from music crossing language barriers to bringing age groups together. You also use basic links such as “For example,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion.” However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the discussion of melancholic and euphoric personalities moves quickly to cultural connection without explaining the link. Some sentences repeat the same claim, particularly that people are brought together or feel happy and secure. Paragraphing is limited, and transitions between examples could be smoother. Group related examples into clearly focused paragraphs and use referencing and linking phrases to show how each example supports your main argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “language barrier,” “emotionally secured,” “generation gap,” and “different cultures,” which helps communicate your main ideas. There are also attempts at more expressive phrasing, such as “right on the money” and “food for the soul.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, including “oftenly observed,” “excited song,” and “popular in all over Pakistan.” Spelling errors such as “togather,” “rhyms,” “Koreon,” and “genaration” are noticeable and reduce the accuracy of the writing. Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe a song as “upbeat” rather than “excited,” and say it is “popular throughout Pakistan.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some complex sentences, including “even when they dont understand the lyrics” and the sentence beginning “For example a sad or classical song…,” but control is inconsistent. Errors occur in basic agreement and verb forms: “music … connect people” should be “music … connects people,” while “I firmly believed” should be “I firmly believe” when stating your current opinion. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also unreliable; “There's a famous proverb, Music is the food for the soul” needs clearer punctuation, and several sentences run together without spaces after full stops. Articles and plural forms are sometimes missing or awkward, as in “different concert” and “different age group.” Practise accurate simple sentences first, then build longer sentences with clear clauses and punctuation.
