Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that music is a better option for bringing people of different regions and cultures close. I partily agree with this perspective. Although, music is important for representing traditions in a country, but there is are various other things such as cooking or art play significant role in bringing people of different nations together.
On the one hand, music helps people to connect spiritually, as there are numerous genera are present in it . For instance, Hindi songs are mostly played in fashion shows or in rampwalk, in which people from different region participate. This allows models to connet with each other as these songs are listed on numerous online plateforms such as Spotify, so these models have made profiles on these platforms.
While, on the other hand, in most countries cooking and art also equally important in culture and help people in communication. For instace, in Pakistan, government of Punjab organizes different cultural sports programmes in which people from different regions take part such as cooking shows or art galleries. In cooking shows people learn numerous traditional food from various countries and admire each other. Similarly, art gallaries showcase different painting from various painters worldwide, through which the culture of one's country is presented to others.
To conclude this discussion, music is no doubt a good option for connecting people from various nations, but there many other ways of connecting with each other such as cooking and art as both showcase flavours and feelings, paving a way of communication.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear, though qualified, response: music can connect people, while cooking and art can also bring cultures together. The examples of Hindi songs at fashion shows and cultural programmes in Punjab are relevant, and the conclusion restates your position. However, the task specifically asks about people of different cultures and ages, while your discussion focuses mainly on regions and nations; the age aspect is not addressed. The central claim about music connecting people “spiritually” is also not explained in enough detail, and the fashion-show example does not clearly show how music itself builds relationships. Develop this example and address both cultures and age groups directly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your position, two body paragraphs contrast music with cooking and art, and a conclusion summarises the argument. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “on the other hand,” and “To conclude” helps readers follow the structure. However, the contrast is not always smoothly expressed: “Although” and “but” are used together in the opening, and “While, on the other hand” makes the second paragraph’s transition awkward. Some links between claims and examples are also unclear, particularly the move from Hindi songs at fashion shows to models creating online profiles. Use fewer, more precise transitions and make the relationship between each example and its main point explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “traditions,” “cultural programmes,” “traditional food,” and “showcase,” which helps communicate the general subject. There are also attempts at less common expressions such as “connect spiritually” and “paving a way of communication.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable, including “partily,” “genera,” “connet,” “plateforms,” and “gallaries.” Some phrases are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “a better option for bringing people…close” and “numerous traditional food.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Check spelling carefully and build accuracy with common collocations, for example, “bring people closer” and “a variety of traditional dishes.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning “Although” and “as,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “Although… but,” “there is are various other things,” and “music helps people to connect spiritually, as there are numerous genera are present in it.” There are also problems with articles, agreement, and plurals, as in “play significant role” and “different painting.” Practise constructing one clear main clause with a correctly formed subordinate clause, and check subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms. Breaking the longest sentences into shorter units would also improve control and readability.
