Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You take a clear position in the opening, saying you personally believe music brings people together, and you give relevant reasons involving emotional impact, shared enjoyment, and cultural traditions. Examples such as young people listening on smartphones and older people attending classical performances help illustrate differences in how music is experienced. However, the response addresses the question only partially: the examples mostly describe listening habits rather than showing how music actually connects people across ages or cultures. The point that music has “no language” is also asserted rather than explained, and the conclusion repeats general claims instead of drawing the argument together. The response is three words below the required minimum. Develop each reason with a specific example of people sharing or learning about music together.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some organisation: an opening states your view, the body presents points about age and culture, and a concluding section returns to music’s value. Basic signposts such as “To begin with,” “for instance,” and “in conclusion” help identify parts of the response. However, progression between ideas is not consistently clear. The paragraph about listening preferences shifts from age to devices without explaining how this supports the central claim, and the final ideas are broken into separate lines rather than forming a clear conclusion. Linking phrases are sometimes mechanical, while references such as “this language free barrier” and “these features” do not clearly connect to a fully explained point. Group related ideas into focused paragraphs and use explicit links to show how each example supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “emotional power,” “classical musical performance,” “traditional music instruments,” and “genres.” These choices show an attempt to discuss music and culture rather than relying entirely on very basic words. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts less clear, including “pepole,” “everbody,” “thier,” and “expereince.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “language free barrier,” “in reality,” and “the age does not become a trouble inbeteween.” Repetition of “music,” “different,” and “people” further restricts flexibility. Check spelling carefully and learn natural collocations for describing shared musical experiences, cultural exchange, and differences between generations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the opening uses a reason clause with “because.” However, the range remains limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “music not only have” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “Many young individuals likes” and “older generation people prefers” also have agreement errors. Articles and sentence boundaries are inconsistent, as in “Music as a medium of listening is experienced differently. for instance” and the final fragment beginning “as it is a individual thing.” The sentence about genres also lacks clear punctuation and a complete connection to the next idea. Practise accurate agreement, articles, and complete sentence construction before adding more complex structures.
