Student answer (Band 5.5)
Few individuals have an opinion about music that it brings inhabitants from different culture and age groups together.Music is known as food of soul.It doesnot require to belong to certain age group to listen to music.
Yes, I totally agree that music is the beneficial way to bring inhabitants together. It is not necessary that we should belong to certain area to listen to certain type of music. For instance, the students in universtry belongs to different regional areas of same country that have totally different culture but they are connected with each other through music as they dance on same beats enjoy on same sort of music.
The thing that only matters is which type of music one is intended to listen.Consider few individuals living abroad are sad due to certain reason so they will listen sad songs according to there mood. There will be no age limitation to listen to music. Some people have old school taste, while they are too young and may listen to some vibrant music but due to there clam nature, they prefer peaceful music. For instant i am from asian culture but usually listen to Micheal Jackson, In this way a person from rich asian culture is connected with person living in europe who listens to same singer. In this whole scenrio two persons with distinct culture are connected with each other through music.
To conclude, the music is a best way to join two souls that are apart and even somehow donot know each other. Moreover, music makes soul so soft that it remind us different cultures and through it we came to know about many distinct cultures.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you strongly agree that music can connect people across cultures and ages, and you address both groups in the prompt. The examples of university students dancing to the same music and your interest in Michael Jackson despite your Asian background are relevant and help illustrate cultural connection. The response also recognises that musical taste can cross age boundaries. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: the example about people abroad listening to sad songs shows mood and preference more than how music brings cultures together. To strengthen the response, develop each example by explaining how shared listening or participation creates interaction, and make the age-related example as specific as the cultural one.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the main position is easy to identify. Examples are generally placed in the paragraphs where they support the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several ideas are joined in long sentences, and links such as “The thing that only matters” and “In this whole scenario” do not clearly show how the points relate. The conclusion repeats the central claim rather than drawing the examples together. Use clearer topic sentences, divide complex ideas into shorter units, and use precise references such as “This shared interest” to connect each example to the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary, including “different cultures,” “age groups,” “regional areas,” and “distinct culture,” and phrases such as “old school taste” show an attempt to express variety in musical preferences. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning less natural. For example, “inhabitants” is not a suitable substitute for people in this context, and “join two souls that are apart” is an unclear way to describe social connection. Spelling errors such as “universtry,” “scenrio” and “Micheal” also affect accuracy. Build a bank of topic-specific expressions and check spelling and collocations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “while” and “but,” and the overall meaning can usually be understood. However, control is inconsistent: errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries occur across the response. For example, “the students … belongs” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “the music is a best way” has an article problem. Some sentences run together, as in the opening paragraph and the sentence beginning “For instance,” making relationships between ideas harder to follow. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct agreement, and appropriate punctuation; then use complex clauses only when their structure remains clear.
