Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many people believe that music is an excellent way to bring people togather from distinct cultural backgrounds and age groups. I firmly agree with this view for several compelling reasons.
To begin with, one of the most significant reason is technology. Technology has made a variety of songs in different languages like - english, Hindi, punjabi, telgu and so on. In other words, before the phones get invented, the music only limits in their own comminities and traditions. However, with the new inventions now people can listen variety of music in different languages and with colored animation videos, which makes it engaging for even those who may does not know other languages. For Example, Nowadays young generation love to listen korean song and they have immensive interest to learn their language, just because they love the music they make. This clearly demonstrates that songs brings togather individuals from different communties and age groups.
Another point to consider is, calmness and energy that comes with music which can be obtained from any song, whether it originates from one's own country or another nation. The only thing that truly matters is the mental satisfaction it provides to individuals of any age. A perfect example is the national anthem, when it is played, everyone - adults and children alike - stands at attention, and no one worries about who is standing next to them; they simply close their eyes and listen. Thus, it is evident that music is a unique way to unite people from all communities in a shared moment.
In conclusion, although there are many other ways to bring different communities together, I strongly believe that music is one of the best options, as the essence of music lies in the energy, calmness, and strength it imparts to each individual.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I firmly agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. Both body paragraphs give relevant reasons: technology increases access to music from other cultures, while shared emotional responses can unite people across ages. The Korean music example helps illustrate cultural influence, and the national anthem provides a recognisable shared experience. However, the second example mainly shows people responding together to a national symbol, rather than demonstrating how music bridges different cultures or age groups. Some claims, such as music’s ability to bring together “all communities,” are broad and would benefit from more specific explanation. This is a relevant, clearly argued response, but the ideas are not equally developed or fully supported throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay has a clear overall progression: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and the conclusion restates your position. Signposting such as “To begin with,” “Another point to consider,” and “In conclusion” makes the structure easy to follow. Examples are generally placed alongside the points they support, and the reader can understand the argument throughout. To make the progression more flexible and precise, connect each example explicitly to the claim it is meant to prove. For instance, explain how interest in Korean songs can lead to interaction between people of different backgrounds, rather than ending with a broad statement about communities and age groups. Some transitions feel formulaic, but the organisation remains clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “cultural backgrounds,” “mental satisfaction,” “national anthem,” and “shared moment,” which helps communicate the topic and your position. There are also attempts at more descriptive phrasing, such as “the energy, calmness, and strength it imparts.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “togather,” “communties,” and “immensive” appear, while “colored animation videos” is unclear in this context. Some combinations are also unnatural, including “the music only limits in their own comminities” and “listen variety of music.” Aim to learn accurate collocations and check spelling carefully; more precise phrasing would make your ideas easier to follow and show stronger control of vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “which makes it engaging” and a contrast introduced by “although” in the conclusion. Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “one of the most significant reason” needs plural agreement, and “the music only limits” has an incorrect verb construction. In “those who may does not know,” the modal should be followed by the base form, while “songs brings” has a subject–verb agreement error. There are also sentence-boundary and punctuation problems, such as the missing space after “languages.” and the comma splice in “when it is played, everyone … stands.” Review agreement, verb patterns, and sentence punctuation to improve accuracy.
