Student answer (Band 6.0)
Music is a intriging part of relaxation and activation, it helps people analyse their mood and sometimes even to communicate with themselves. Some people say that music is a good way of bringing people of different cultures and ages together. I strongly agree to the fact that music is one of the source for getting people together.
Being part of the country where people speak different languages moving up the states and music changing along with it. Each part of the state has its own speciality in music. Sometimes individuals tend to enjoy the music based on its beats rather than understanding the lyrics which makes them connect to thet particular song. For instance, being a maharastrian I usually do not understand any south indian music but often enjoy dancing and grooving on the tunes. This is the part of the music which has made me connected to the south culture.
The other reason for me to agree with this particular view is because there are lots of musics and compositions made for all categories of age group sometimes the new generation (GenZ) also enjoys the retro songs released in the 90s era. This type of involvements makes the bond between the older generation and the new born generation. For Example, listening to the songs released in our grandparents generations can also be one of the best songs we've heard so far and it creates a special bonds with the garndparents.
In conclusion, I believe that music is going to be the important source in future starting new relations as it can be one of the sources of communication.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that music can bring people together. You address both cultural and age differences, supporting the first with your experience of enjoying South Indian music and the second with younger people listening to songs from their grandparents’ generation. These examples make the response relevant and help it meet the task. The cultural example is more clearly explained; the point about music creating bonds across generations is less fully developed, and the conclusion mainly restates your view rather than extending it. To strengthen the response further, explain more explicitly how shared listening or dancing leads to interaction between people, and develop the age-group example with a specific situation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. The progression from cultural connection to connection across generations is logical, and phrases such as “For instance” and “The other reason” help signal examples and a new point. However, some links are mechanical, and the opening sentence of the first body paragraph (“Being part of the country…”) is not a complete sentence, making the transition from the introduction less smooth. References such as “This type of involvements” are also not fully clear. Use complete topic sentences and connect each example directly to the claim it supports; this would make the organisation and cohesion more consistently clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “lyrics,” “tunes,” “retro songs,” “generation,” and “communication,” and some choices help convey your personal examples. There is also an attempt to use less common language, such as “compositions” and “speciality.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “a intriging part of relaxation and activation,” “one of the source,” and “lots of musics.” Spelling errors such as “maharastrian” and “garndparents” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural, precise phrases and check spelling and countable/uncountable nouns. For example, “music” is generally uncountable, while “songs” or “pieces of music” can be counted.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “the music based on its beats rather than understanding the lyrics which makes them connect.” Your meaning is generally understandable, but errors in sentence formation and basic grammar are noticeable. The opening body sentence, “Being part of the country where people speak different languages moving up the states and music changing along with it,” is a fragment, and “I strongly agree to the fact” uses an incorrect grammatical pattern. There are also errors with articles, agreement, and plurals, as in “a intriging part” and “it creates a special bonds.” Practise building complete sentences around one main clause, then check articles, subject–verb agreement, and singular/plural forms.
