Student answer (Band 5.5)
There is a broad argument of music can assist people from different cultures and age catagories together and this is a positive way. I strongly disagree on this statement primarily based on music taste and language barrier.
First of all, different culture has different languages and less number of people understand different cultural languages. As a result, individuals from another culture can not observe the main theme and meaning of songs. For example, a british is unable to observe the meaning of bengali songs and not enjoy musics from Bangladesh. He is also unable to attract with songs and it is like unfamilier and disturbing for him.
On the other hand, Different people has different music tastes. Some of them like folk music, some likes instumental music, another group of people likes traditional song and other are not like songs at all. For instance, childrens who are below 10 they are not keen on music. They are actually like to watch cartoons on tv. The youngers are enjoy romantic songs from native movies and short films. Adults like folk songs and instumental sounds. Nevertheless, most of the students favourite song is motivated English songs. For this, music taste varies on their mins and situation. So, we can not say that music can add people of all ages it depends on understanding level and mentality. Therefore I could recall my decision that, music in not the way to make people together.
In conclusion, if we look at individuals music taste the opinion became failure and everyone from different cultures are not able to understand the main meaning.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you strongly disagree, and you give two relevant reasons—language differences and varied musical preferences. The examples about a British listener and Bengali songs, and about children, young people and adults, help illustrate these points. However, the response addresses the issue only partially because it mainly explains why music may not unite people, without considering how it can bring some groups together or qualifying your disagreement. Several claims are also broad or unclear, such as saying children under ten are not keen on music. Develop each reason with a more specific explanation and a balanced example, then make clear why the counterpoint does not change your overall view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The first body paragraph focuses on language, while the second discusses differences in taste, so the reader can follow the main topics. Linking phrases such as “First of all,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” also signal stages of the argument. However, progression within the second body paragraph is less controlled: it moves quickly through several age groups and then returns to a general claim, with some ideas repeated in the conclusion. Some connections are mechanical or unclear, particularly “For this” and “Therefore I could recall my decision.” Use clearer links between each example and your main point, and organise the age-group examples more selectively.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “language barrier,” “music tastes,” “folk music,” and “instrumental music,” which helps communicate the subject. There is also an attempt to vary wording through phrases such as “main theme and meaning” and “understanding level and mentality.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning awkward, for example “observe the meaning,” “attract with songs,” and “music can add people.” Spelling errors such as “catagories,” “unfamilier,” and “instumental” are also noticeable. Build a bank of natural phrases for discussing music and social connection, and check spelling and word forms carefully so your ideas are expressed more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect structure in “As a result, individuals from another culture…” and a contrast introduced by “Nevertheless.” This gives the response some structural variety. However, many sentences contain errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, or sentence construction, and these sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “different culture has,” “Some of them like… some likes,” and “The youngers are enjoy.” The opening sentence, “There is a broad argument of music can assist…,” is also not grammatically complete. Practise forming accurate subject–verb patterns and use shorter, controlled sentences before adding subordinate clauses. Check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
