Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the outset: you completely agree that music brings people together, and you address cultural and age differences through examples such as family celebrations, concerts and Navratri. These relevant points meet the task well. The discussion also shows some development, particularly where you explain that people of different ages dance to the same music. However, several claims are asserted rather than explained: for instance, the economic benefit of concerts is not clearly connected to bringing age groups together, and the point about music as therapy is introduced only in the conclusion. To strengthen the response further, develop each main reason with a specific example and explain more directly how it unites people. The response meets the stated length requirement; the 10 words copied from the prompt were excluded from the count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, supporting paragraphs and a concluding summary. The progression from music as performance and listening, to celebrations and concerts, is generally understandable. You also use signposts such as “First,” “Second,” “Lastely” and “Overall to conclude” to guide the reader. However, the sequencing sometimes feels mechanical, and the links between ideas are not always clear. The economic paragraph, for example, shifts from concerts creating economic activity to cultural unity without fully explaining the connection. Some points in the conclusion, including music therapy, appear without preparation in the body. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the paragraph’s main claim; vary linking methods rather than relying mainly on numbered transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to discuss the topic and include some relevant expressions, such as “different cultures,” “festive season,” “economic activity” and “medical conditions.” The meaning is generally recoverable, but the range is limited by repeated general words such as “people,” “music” and “brings,” and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors reduce precision. For example, “sothing,” “peacefull,” “corelate” and “Lastely” are misspelled, while “worshipped” is an awkward choice for describing appreciation of art. “Amalgamation of culture happens” is also unnatural in this context. Aim for more precise phrases such as “fosters social connection” or “shared musical experience,” and check spelling and collocations carefully. This would make the argument clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “Whether” and “which,” and most of the message remains understandable. However, errors in agreement, articles and sentence construction are frequent enough to limit accuracy. Examples include “every country have” instead of “every country has,” “it bring the people” instead of “it brings people,” and “listening music” rather than “listening to music.” The opening sentence also has an unclear structure: “The music can also be classified as classical or traditional and modern that is pop style music.” Some punctuation and spacing around sentence boundaries are inconsistent. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, and revise longer sentences into clear clauses. Greater control of these basics would make your varied sentence attempts more effective.
