Student answer (Band 5.5)
I tend to agree with the statement that music is a great way to connect with different kinds of people having distinct ages and cultures. As I have certain reasons:
Firstly, music is like a medicine for some people, since it is played in almost every situation while sleeping, exercising, cooking, and even driving. It is like an indispensable kind of thing for numerous people. Through this people feel more relaxed and energetic and sometimes music helps them to unwind. Furthermore, it is a great way to connect with people, several individuals are getting obsessed with dancing on the loud songs in the clubs. Resultantly, there is a rising trend of night clubs in big cities, a group of individuals having different ages also pay a heavy membership fee every month to enjoy music. Thirdly, music bring different cultural backgrounds together, like one of the debut of Baloch Artist Ustaad Noor on a Balochi-Benju, an articulated instrument played in New York Music Festival. A vast population joined this festival in NYC and get amused by the performance of the Pakistani artist and the old instrument similarly, it also connected many people in the debut. Another example is of concert in a different language; the Spanish concert held in London, among English speaking people. A huge number of people from different ages, cultures, and even having distinct languages, joined the concert and enjoyed it.
At last, I can safely reach a verdict that music is a great way to bring people close together. No matter what their age, nationality, culture and norms is, everyone does connect through music.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the opening: you agree that music connects people across ages and cultures, and the conclusion restates this view. The examples of the Balochi instrument at a New York festival and a Spanish concert in London are relevant and help address cultural differences. However, the support is uneven: the discussion of music as a way to relax is less directly connected to bringing people together, and the nightclub example asserts that people of different ages attend without explaining how music creates interaction between them. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation of its link to the question, and extend one or two examples rather than listing several claims. This would make the response more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, supporting points, examples, and a concluding statement. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Furthermore,” and “At last” help signal movement between ideas. However, the body is presented as one long paragraph, so the separate arguments and examples are difficult to distinguish. Some links are also mechanical or unclear: “Through this” has an uncertain reference, while “Resultantly” does not clearly show how the preceding point leads to the rise of nightclubs. Use separate paragraphs for distinct reasons, and connect each example explicitly to the claim it supports. More precise referencing and less reliance on numbered transitions would improve the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “distinct ages and cultures,” “indispensable,” “cultural backgrounds,” and “performance.” These choices help communicate your main ideas, and the examples give you opportunities to use specific terms. However, several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “getting obsessed with dancing on the loud songs,” “a heavy membership fee,” and “get amused by the performance.” There are also word-form or collocation problems, including “music bring” and “one of the debut.” Aim for more natural combinations and precise verbs, such as describing people as enjoying or responding to music. This would make your meaning smoother and more exact.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “since” and examples introduced through longer sentences. The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “music bring” needs subject–verb agreement, and “everyone does connect” uses an unnecessary auxiliary. In “No matter what their age, nationality, culture and norms is,” the plural list requires a matching verb, and the sentence structure needs clearer agreement. The long sentence beginning “A vast population joined this festival” also needs more controlled punctuation and clause boundaries. Review agreement, auxiliary use, and sentence boundaries, then check each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
