Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

Your opening establishes a relevant position: you agree that music can help people learn about other cultures and traditions. However, the response stops before developing this view or addressing how music brings together people of different ages. The brief reference to technology and experiencing other cultures could become a reason, but it is not explained or supported with a specific example. The response is also substantially below the required 250 words, so the task is only minimally addressed. To improve, state your position clearly, discuss both cultural and age-related connections, and develop each point with an explanation and a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic line of thought: it moves from your opinion to technology as a way of accessing other cultures. The opening phrase “Due to the advancement of technology” signals a reason, which helps the reader follow the intended connection. However, the response ends mid-sentence (“there are no one who does not listen”), so the idea and overall argument remain incomplete. There is no developed paragraph structure or concluding statement, and the relationship between technology and music needs clearer explanation. Organise the answer into an introduction, separate body paragraphs for your main reasons, and a conclusion; use linking phrases to show how each example supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “cultures,” “tradition,” “technology,” and “experience,” so the general subject is identifiable. There are also attempts to express the idea of connection through “combine … together.” However, several word choices and spelling errors reduce precision, such as “very decent way,” “advancment,” and “peoples.” The phrase “listen, watch and experience others culture” is also not expressed naturally, and the final wording is incomplete. Build a more accurate range of topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations. For example, you could describe music as a “shared cultural experience” and explain how it “bridges generational differences.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to use both a main clause and a reason clause, as in “Due to the advancement of technology people are now able to…,” showing some ability to form longer sentences. However, control is uneven. “There is some individuals” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “there are no one” also uses incorrect agreement. The first sentence contains a comma after “that” where the clause should continue without it, and the final sentence is unfinished, leaving its structure incomplete. Most of the response relies on long, joined clauses rather than a clear range of sentence forms. Practise accurate agreement and punctuation, and use shorter complete sentences alongside more complex ones.
