Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a generally relevant response and indicate agreement in “Somehow I feel the same way.” The examples about people sharing songs online and young people making reels also relate to music connecting people across cultures. However, the position is only briefly stated and is not developed into a clear, sustained argument. The first example focuses on two people communicating, while the second discusses social-media trends; neither fully explains how music brings people of different ages together. The response also gives little consideration to age differences beyond saying that young people enjoy music more than older generations. To strengthen the answer, state your degree of agreement clearly and develop separate reasons showing how music can connect both cultural groups and generations.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic progression: it introduces agreement, discusses cultural communication, and then turns to social media and younger listeners. Examples help the reader follow the main topic, and linking expressions such as “Thus,” “For instance,” and “Moreover” show attempts to connect ideas. However, the organisation is not consistently clear. The two main points are crowded into long paragraphs, and the second paragraph moves between age differences, trends, platforms, and cultural respect without a clear sequence. Some links are repetitive or awkward, and references such as “this activity” require the reader to infer exactly which activity is meant. Use distinct paragraphs for each reason, with a clear topic sentence and a concluding link back to your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a range of relevant topic vocabulary, including “cultures,” “communicate,” “trends,” “platforms,” and “connection,” which helps convey your main ideas. There are also attempts to express more specific concepts, such as sharing songs to communicate feelings. However, vocabulary is limited in precision, and noticeable spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the message difficult to follow. Examples include “discribe,” “contry,” “modren,” and “gratitude”; phrases such as “the attractive way” and “share their love to other country” are also unnatural. Aim to learn accurate collocations for discussing music and cultural exchange, and proofread spelling. More precise wording would help you explain how music creates shared experiences rather than relying repeatedly on general terms such as “love” and “connection.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “while” and “although,” so there is some effort to vary sentence structure. However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response difficult to read. For example, “Some individuals believes” has subject–verb disagreement, while “a good way to connected” uses the wrong verb form. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, as in “People especially youngsters they enjoy” and the run-on sentence beginning “For instance two genders.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also unreliable. Practise building accurate sentences around one main clause, then add subordinate clauses carefully; check agreement, verb forms, and full stops when editing.
