Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is important to create a society where people from different cultures and ages live together happiely, and it is beleived that music can be a good way to do this. I strongly agree with this statement, music is one of the best way to bring people together and build trust. It brings peace, motivation, emotions and energy with it, which are the things required to build healthy connections.
Music is spread all over the world, and i think there is not a single individual who does not listen to music. Maybe not every music is everyones choice, but people have some kind of music which they like to hear. Similarly, the taste of music is divide by the age of individuals, for instance, children of age below 10 mostly like to hear rhymes as music, the best example for this is cocomelon. On the other hand teenagers love to hear rock bands who creates highly energetic music, where as adults love to hear music which provides peace and have positive evergy. Lastly, oldies listens to the songs of their time which are not relevent nowadays, however for them that is their favourite kind of music.
Every cultural music represents a part of that culture, some people listen them to learn about the culture, because for them music is the easiest way to learn about new things. Whereas some people listens to the cultural music because they like the tone and they enjoy the beat, they don't want to learn anything new, their motive to listen to other cultures music is simply to enjoy. In the modern world, music is also used in hospital as a treatment process. Recent studies has found that, music help patients in rapid recovery.
In conclusion, world is surrounded by music and no one can escape it now. People love to hear it, and it became the best way to connect with different people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that music can bring people together, and the conclusion returns to this view. You give relevant reasons, including shared enjoyment across age groups and the way music can introduce listeners to other cultures. The examples of children’s songs, rock music and older people’s preferences help illustrate the age-related point. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that music “build[s] trust” is not supported with a specific example, and the hospital-treatment point is not clearly connected to bringing people of different cultures and ages together. Develop these links and explain more directly how shared musical experiences create connection.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The age-based examples are grouped together, while the next paragraph focuses on cultural music, so the reader can follow the main topics. You also use signposts such as “Similarly,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion.” At times, however, these links feel mechanical or do not show the precise relationship between ideas. The paragraph about cultural music shifts to music as hospital treatment, which interrupts the focus, and “Lastly” introduces another age group without clearly tying the examples back to your argument. Keep each paragraph centred on one reason and use clearer references to connect examples to the claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “build trust,” “cultural music,” “tone” and “beat,” and the main meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts to express ideas beyond basic description, such as music representing “a part of that culture.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “the taste of music is divide by the age,” “oldies listens,” and “positive evergy.” Spelling and word-form slips such as “beleived,” “relevent” and “happiely” also reduce precision. Aim for more natural phrases and check spelling carefully; for example, describe how musical preferences “vary by age” and refer to “older listeners” rather than “oldies.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “which,” “because” and “whereas.” This gives the response some variety, and the overall meaning remains understandable. Some grammatical errors nevertheless recur. Subject–verb agreement is inconsistent in “rock bands who creates,” “oldies listens” and “Recent studies has found”; the verbs should agree with their plural subjects. There are also problems with articles and sentence boundaries, as in “I strongly agree with this statement, music is…” and “In conclusion, world is surrounded by music.” Use a full stop or a suitable conjunction between independent clauses, and review agreement and article use when editing. These corrections would make your varied sentences more controlled.
