Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that music is effective way of encouraging people of diverse cultures and ages together. I completely agree with this viewpoint, as I believe that it encourages cultural heritage and emotions when people speak different language.
The primary reason for my position is that music brings many people from several countries to understand their culture and emotions behind it. This is largely because music enhance intrust between people to understand the culture from various nations. So, people interact with each other for cultural exchange and learn about their lifestyles. Furthermore, youngsters enjoy music in any cultural language in the concerts and meet with new people. For instance, there are some concerts of famous singer like justin biber and bruno mars, where lot of individuals come from different regions to listen their songs. Therefore, they maybe understand the language of those songs but emotions behind way of singing encourage people to stay connected from globe.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear from the opening: “I completely agree,” and you give relevant reasons about cultural exchange and shared enjoyment at concerts. The example of Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars also helps illustrate how music can attract people from different regions. However, the response addresses the task only partially: it focuses mainly on cultural differences and young concertgoers, with little explanation of how music brings different age groups together. The ideas are also brief and sometimes unclear, such as the claim that music “enhance intrust.” The response is 157 words, below the required 250, so there is not enough development or support. Add a separate, explained example involving different generations and extend each main point.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic progression: you state your opinion, give a main reason, and then provide a concert example. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “For instance,” and “Therefore” help signal the relationship between points. However, the response is presented as one paragraph, so the main ideas are not clearly separated, and the overall progression remains limited. Some connections are difficult to follow: the sentence beginning “This is largely because” does not clearly explain how music builds understanding, while the final sentence combines language, emotion, and global connection without a clear sequence. Use separate paragraphs for your position, each supporting reason, and the conclusion. Make each linking phrase introduce a clearly explained step in your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “cultural exchange,” “lifestyles,” “diverse cultures,” and “emotions.” These choices show an attempt to discuss music’s social effects rather than relying only on basic terms. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “encouraging people … together,” “enhance intrust,” and “stay connected from globe.” These expressions make parts of the argument harder to understand. There are also spelling and form issues, including “intrust” and the lowercase names “justin biber” and “bruno mars.” Aim for more precise phrases such as “bring people together,” “build mutual understanding,” and “connect people across the world,” and check spelling and proper nouns.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “as I believe” and a sentence introduced by “For instance.” The main message is generally understandable, but errors in articles, agreement, and sentence construction occur repeatedly. For example, “music is effective way” needs an article, and “music enhance” has a subject–verb agreement error. In “where lot of individuals come,” the noun phrase also needs an article or plural determiner. Some longer sentences are awkwardly joined, particularly the final sentence, which makes the relationship between its ideas unclear. Practise checking articles and verb agreement, and divide long sentences when they contain several separate points. More accurate control of these basic patterns would make your argument easier to follow.
