Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some individuals argue that music is a way to brings people of various cultures and ages close. I fully agree with this statement because it promotes love, tolerence and solve differnet problems.

On the one hand, india and pakistan are enemy that foughts multiple wars but music promote peace. For instance, the songs of atif aslam listen all over the india, moreover arjit singh is popular in pakistan which is heared in caffee, clubs and hotels. Social media has educated youth about hate that may have political agenda, now Gen-Z on booth country want to end this drama. That want to see the conserts of booth pakistani and indian actors and its the only industry that stay out of hate during bad times.

However, youth and elders one have different taste but they agreed and stay together at the same level when Nusraf Fateh Ali khan and Jagjit singhs plays. Music promote differnet culture, many local Artists express their homeland with the beautiful language of songs. In my hometown, the government organiz festival to promote local culture which attracts audience from whole country and during this demonstrate the local things with music that is aknowleded in differ communities.

Inconclusion, music is the love language of peaceful people, it promote culture, together people from different age groups and regions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you fully agree that music can connect people, and both body paragraphs address the topic through cultural and age-related examples. The India–Pakistan discussion, including the popularity of Atif Aslam and Arijit Singh across borders, is relevant, while the example of elders and young people enjoying Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Jagjit Singh supports your point about age groups. However, some claims are not fully explained—for example, how social media has changed young people’s attitudes, and how the local festival brings different communities together. The response also contains 218 words, below the required 250, so the argument has limited space for development. Explain the examples and their connection to your position more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting different aspects of the argument, and a conclusion. The contrast signalled by “On the one hand” and “However” helps readers follow the shift from national relations to differences between generations. Examples are generally placed alongside the points they support. At times, though, connections between ideas are abrupt or unclear, particularly in the sentence about social media, political agendas, and Gen-Z wanting to end “this drama.” The conclusion also repeats the main claim rather than drawing together the two strands of the discussion. Use clearer links between cause and result, and make references such as “that” and “this” more precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “cultures,” “peace,” “political agenda,” “local culture,” and “audience,” and you attempt more specific expressions such as “love language.” These choices make your main ideas understandable. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “tolerence,” “differnet,” “conserts,” and “aknowleded,” and some phrases are not natural in context, such as “at the same level” and “the only industry that stay out of hate.” These inaccuracies sometimes make the intended meaning less precise. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, especially for describing cultural exchange, popularity, and social unity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrastive opening with “On the one hand” and a relative clause in “which attracts audience from whole country.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “a way to brings” should use the base verb after “to,” while “music promote” and “the government organiz” do not show correct subject–verb agreement. The sentence beginning “Social media has educated youth” also joins several ideas in a way that makes the relationships difficult to follow. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
