Student answer (Band 6.0)

Many poeple belives that this is the excellent path to connect people of different tradition and age together. Because music offers variety of options of all kind of people. I beleive its a best way to in society to meet and greet each other in musical events and it will improve person's socializing skill but it also have some negative aspects which can't be ignore.

In recent years, People start developing so much interest in music, they tend to organize musical nights in housing socities, because they beleive music is kind of tool which help to release stress for every person despite of their age. Many Individual's use music as thereapy to realse stress, they often join music classes. Listening to music helps to divert attention from stressful event ot matter even if it is for few minutes like we can use music as distractor. Moreover, Music events also helps introverts to involve in socializing, because when they attend a musical night they mostly get a chance to meet people whoes interests match with them. Many schools, universities also organise musical nights as recreation activity, because can help students to freshen up their minds for hectic study routine.

However, there are some negative aspects also attach with music. Many time youngster involve themselves in drugs and alcohol activities when they go to musical nights, because most likely many rebellious kind of people also attend this kind of nights and they found these nights are amazing opportunity to sale their harmful products or sometimes they just mix the drug in person's drink. These kind of nights can be harmful for society as they spread illegal activities.

Music is best opportunity to bring people together from all kind of different background and age by arranging decent musical nights, introvert can be benefited, and even a depressed person can also find a relax time but it also has its negative aspect, consumotion of drugs and alcohal which happens in these events. In my prespective, Music is good way to spread harmony and connection between people by creating events, just needed a proper check on the culprits.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you see music as a way to connect people, while acknowledging risks at some events. You address the prompt with relevant points, including shared musical interests, stress relief, and opportunities for introverts to socialise. The example of schools and universities organising musical nights also supports your view. This meets the task well, but the discussion is uneven: the benefits are explained in more detail than how music specifically brings different cultures and age groups together, and the risks paragraph focuses on drugs and alcohol without showing how common or representative this is. To strengthen the response, explain a concrete example of people across generations or cultures sharing music, and develop the counterpoint before reaffirming your overall position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a contrasting paragraph on risks, and a conclusion. Connectors such as “Moreover” and “However” help signal the movement between ideas, and the main line of argument is generally easy to follow. Some links are less clear or repetitive, however: the conclusion repeats the benefits and risks rather than drawing them together, while “Because” begins a sentence that depends on the previous one. Several ideas are also crowded into long sentences, making the relationship between claims harder to track. Use clearer topic sentences, divide complex points into shorter units, and use pronouns or linking phrases with precise references to improve progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of relevant vocabulary, including “introverts,” “recreation activity,” “release stress,” and “illegal activities,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “spread harmony” and “musical events.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “poeple,” “beleive,” “thereapy,” and “consumotion” are examples. Some combinations are also unnatural, including “excellent path to connect” and “a relax time.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, and avoid repeating “musical nights” and “people” when a precise alternative such as “concerts,” “attendees,” or “participants” would fit. This would make your vocabulary more controlled and flexible.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, using clauses with “because,” “when,” and “even if” to explain causes and examples. This gives the response some structural variety, but control is inconsistent, and many sentences contain errors that can make the reader work to understand them. For example, “Many poeple belives” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “music events also helps” repeats this problem; “it also have” and “which help” show similar difficulty with verb forms. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “Because music offers…” and “a best way.” Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and correctly matched verb, then review articles and punctuation, especially in longer sentences.
