Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

Your position is clear: “I strongly agree,” and you begin to connect music with bringing people from different cultures together. However, the response stops before developing this argument or addressing the role of music in connecting different age groups. The personal statement “I personally like to listen music” explains your preference, but it does not show how music unites people. The cultural-music point is introduced but left unfinished (“music play crucial role in any”), and there are no developed reasons or relevant examples. The response is also substantially below the required 250 words. To strengthen your answer, explain specific ways people share music across cultures and generations, support each point with an example, and complete your discussion of both parts of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening gives your opinion, followed by “First of all” to introduce a supporting point. This provides a recognisable starting structure. However, the progression is very limited because the first body point is not completed, and the response ends mid-sentence. “To be honest” and “From my perspective” repeat the personal viewpoint rather than moving the argument forward. The relationship between your preference for music and the claim that it brings different groups together is not made clear. Develop a complete paragraph for each main reason, use examples to connect claims to the topic, and finish with a conclusion that restates your position. Use linking phrases only where they show a genuine relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “cultures,” “traditions,” “music,” and “crucial role,” so the reader can identify the subject of your response. There is also an attempt to vary phrasing with “individuals” and “people.” However, the range remains narrow, and several expressions are awkward or imprecise, such as “a best way” and “create love among people.” Repeating “I personally like music” also limits variety and does not add much meaning. Build a more precise vocabulary for explaining how music connects people, such as shared experiences, cultural exchange, and musical traditions. Check collocations as you write, and choose phrases that express the specific effect you mean rather than relying on broad terms such as “love.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response includes both simple statements and an attempt at a more complex sentence, such as “the reason that how it can create love among people even of different cultures.” This shows an effort to express a relationship between ideas, but the structure is not controlled. There are clear errors in “a best way,” “I strongly agree … because i,” “listen music,” and “music play crucial role.” These involve article use, capitalisation, verb patterns, and subject–verb agreement. The final sentence is incomplete, so its grammatical structure cannot be followed to a finished point. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add subordinate clauses. For example, use “I enjoy listening to music” and “Music plays a crucial role” as models.
