Student answer (Band 6.0)
Music is one of the enrich form of an art. It also serve as as bring people of different cultures and ages together. In my opinion, it is very effective way of bringing closer people of either different culture and ages together.
Music provides insight of some culture through lyrics and visuals. Many artists and songwriter use the music as a medium to let other people discover beauty of their cultures and norms which significantly bring people together and allow them to bond with their similar interest with music. For instance, recently a well renowned football game FIFA's song which sing by a singer name Shakira, in her song we showcase an African culture and their bright colours and costumes were also inspired from their culture which many people not only appreciated but embrace it beautifully.
Moreover, music also offer varieties of genres like, hip hop, indie, classic. These also contribute into providing people to chose according to their preference which is not restricted to any age. For instance, my father is big fan of classical music which gives me sense of relaxation and pleasure. While my husband upbringing is Completely influence by French culture where he was born and raised. despite their age and culture difference they emotionally bonded and connected with each other on similar interests in classical music.
In conclusion, the believe music is a good way of bringing many individuals closer and share same interest in culture. It is also not limited to the any age or cultural differences.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the opening: you consider music an effective way to bring people of different cultures and ages together, and the conclusion restates this view. Both aspects of the prompt are addressed: you explain how music can introduce cultural traditions and how different generations can share musical interests. The Shakira example and the account of your father and husband make the response relevant and personal. However, the cultural example is not fully explained, and the link between the song and people actually forming connections remains general. The family example supports the age point, but could show more clearly how music brings people together. Develop these links and explain the examples’ significance more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. The progression from music’s cultural role to its appeal across ages is logical, and signposts such as “Moreover” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. The first body paragraph moves from lyrics and cultural discovery to the FIFA song without clearly explaining how this leads to people bonding. In the second, “While” introduces the husband’s background, but the relationship between that detail and the father’s musical preference is not fully clear. Referencing and punctuation also occasionally interrupt the flow. Make links between examples and claims explicit, and use transitions that show the exact relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range for the topic, including relevant terms such as “lyrics,” “genres,” “preference,” “cultural,” and “emotionally bonded.” There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “a medium” and “sense of relaxation and pleasure.” However, several word forms and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “one of the enrich form,” “provides insight of some culture,” and “bond with their similar interest.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning less natural, even though the main ideas remain understandable. Aim for more precise collocations and check whether nouns, adjectives, and verbs fit their grammatical roles. The suggestions below offer alternatives that better express your intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a relative clause in “which many people not only appreciated” and a contrast between your father’s and husband’s backgrounds. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make reading difficult. Examples include “It also serve,” “Many artists and songwriter use,” and “music also offer”; the sentence beginning “For instance, recently…” also lacks a clear, well-formed structure. Capitalisation and punctuation are unreliable, as in “despite” after a full stop and the run-on phrasing around “each other on similar interests.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build complex sentences around one clear main clause, then check punctuation and sentence boundaries.
