Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often claimed that music is a force that unites people of different cultural background and age. I strongly agree with this notion. No doubt, music brings people of different traditions at one place even if they don't get the exact meaning of lyrics and it is also seemed that people of different age groups have same music taste.
The main reason for this agreement is that music can act as magnetic force to unite people of different traditions together. They feel it as shared experiences. For example, BTS has global fan following. People of different cultures like it and huge following list is out of Korea. People learn about their culture after music. Qawali of Nusret Fateh Ali khan is played all over the Pakistan either in punjab, sindh, balouchistan or KPK. Although they all dont know punjabi but they listen. So, people who belong to different cultures unite by music.
Secondly, Music is an attractive way of bringing people close who belong to different age groups. It is due to music taste that act as common thing betwen them. For example, 20th centuary music is still enjoyed. and in concerts people of different age come and enjoy. They respect each other and enjoy collectively. It creates a sense of unity and understanding among them.
In conclusion, music is an effective way to bring people of different ages and different cultures together. It's emotional power transcends language barriers, traditional differences and age gaps. It creates genuine empathy which is why i agree with the view music is good way to bring people tohether.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I strongly agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address both parts of the opinion by discussing cultural differences and age groups, and the examples of BTS and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan make the cultural point relevant. However, the age-related argument is less fully developed: the claim that people share music tastes is asserted, and the reference to concerts does not explain in detail how music connects generations. Some supporting points, such as people learning about a culture through music, would benefit from a clearer explanation or a specific illustration. Develop each main idea with a fuller cause-and-effect explanation to make the response more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. “The main reason” and “Secondly” help signal the progression, and the examples generally appear in the relevant paragraphs. Cohesion is sometimes mechanical, however, and links between ideas are not always smooth. For instance, “People learn about their culture after music” is not clearly connected to the preceding point about BTS, while “They feel it as shared experiences” has an unclear reference. The sentence beginning “20th century music is still enjoyed” also shifts abruptly to concerts. Use clearer referencing and explain how each example supports the paragraph’s main claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “cultural background,” “traditions,” “lyrics,” “concerts,” “language barriers,” and “empathy.” Phrases such as “emotional power” and “sense of unity” help express the central idea. There are also attempts at less common or vivid wording, such as “magnetic force,” though this is not a natural collocation in this context. Some word choices and spelling errors reduce precision, including “shared experiences” in an unclear phrase, “global fan following,” “betwen,” and “tohether.” Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for how music connects people would also help you explain your ideas with greater flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex forms, including a concession with “even if” and a subordinate clause beginning “Although.” Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “it is also seemed” has an incorrect verb form, and “music taste that act as common thing” has problems with agreement and article use. The sentence “20th century music is still enjoyed. and in concerts…” is incorrectly punctuated and begins a new sentence with a lower-case conjunction. There are also inconsistent apostrophes and capitalisation, such as “dont” and “i.” Practise checking verb forms, singular/plural agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
