Student answer (Band 5.5)
In nowdays most people are listening music to stay relax and calm themselves. some people think that we can bring people of different culture and ages together with help of music. i disagree with this statement which i will explain and will share my opinion on it.
firstly, different people and different cultures have their own tastes of music and they feel happy, or relax while listening to that kind of music. such as different people of different languages have their own music in their local language and they understand it easily and feel enjoyable while listening , in my opinion to bring different cultures people together with the help of music is difficult because of language barrier and different culture.
secondly, in my prepective to bring peoples of different ages together with music is impossible because of the generation gaps. young generation love to listen hip hop or agressive type music while the older ones love to listen old and smooth way of music for example nowadays the young people listen rap song or a bit aggressive song and elder ones are in sufi music so from my view it is impossible to connect different generations with the help of music beacause of the generation gap and different taste.
concluding the topic, from prespestive it is quite immpossible to bring different culture and different generation together with the help of music. because of the different culture and different taste of music and , also the generation gap between different ages group.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you disagree that music brings people of different cultures and ages together, and you give a separate reason for each group. The examples of language differences and contrasting musical preferences are relevant to the question. However, the response addresses the issue only partially because the reasons are asserted rather than explored. For instance, you say a language barrier makes cultural connection difficult, but do not consider whether people can enjoy music without understanding its lyrics. Similarly, the age argument repeats the contrast between young listeners and older listeners without explaining why shared musical experiences cannot bridge that gap. Develop each point with a specific example and acknowledge a possible counterargument to make your response more complete and convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “firstly” and “secondly,” and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument easy to identify. However, progression within the paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and ideas are repeated rather than developed. The conclusion restates the same points about culture, musical taste, and generation gaps without adding a clear final insight. Some connections between sentences are also awkward, such as the shift from language differences to the claim that bringing cultures together is difficult. Use linking phrases to show how each example supports your claim, and make sure pronouns and references clearly identify the people or ideas being discussed.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “language barrier,” “generation gaps,” “hip hop,” and “rap.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “different,” “music,” and “generation gap.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “prepective,” “prespestive,” “immpossible,” and “agressive,” which reduce accuracy and polish. Some expressions are unnatural, including “stay relax” and “smooth way of music.” Aim for more precise collocations and vary how you describe musical preferences and cultural differences. Proofreading spelling and choosing natural phrases will make your argument clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Your response mainly uses simple sentence patterns, with some attempts to extend ideas using clauses such as “because of the language barrier” and “while the older ones love to listen.” These attempts show some range, but complex sentences are often faulty or difficult to follow. For example, “In nowdays most people are listening music to stay relax” has problems with the opening phrase, verb pattern, and adjective form; “different people of different languages have their own music” also has an unclear grammatical relationship. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including lowercase sentence openings and comma placement. Practise accurate sentence patterns with articles, verb forms, and clauses, then check each sentence for a clear subject and complete structure.
