Student answer (Band 5.0)

Music is a common language to bring people together. Although they belong to different cultures and ages. However, some people agreed with this statement but half of them not argued the same. This essay will exhibit the both aspects of this opinion.

At first, music is good for entertainment. People enjoy listening music while driving, playing games and doing excercises in gym etc. Music is an art and an attractive thing to most of the people wheather they belong to different cultures. In modern era the people like to play soundtracks from old ages albums. Because they like the fine quality of music. Although some of them cannot understand the lyrics language but they enjoy the rythms.

Secondly, some people argues that music is not a good way to bring different nationalities together. They believe people have variety of things to be attractive with each other sucha as food cuisines and religious activities. According to them Music is not a choice of everyone but majorities like to have good meals, sharing the same religion and following the same pattern of worship. people can join others in the form of prayer together such as in the mosques and churches etc.

In my opinion, On the one hand, music can be an advantageous way to collect people from different cultures and customs. On the other hand, the other values are also can be beneficial te bring together people according to their choices.

Eventually, Music is the common things in all cultures but we cannot ignore the other features. which could be helpful to bring people near to each other.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both the potential of music to connect people and the view that other shared activities may bring them together, and you give a concluding opinion. However, the response only partially answers the question because your position is not consistently clear: the introduction says you will present “both aspects,” while the conclusion says music is common but other features also help, without stating how far you agree. The supporting ideas are also limited. For example, enjoying older soundtracks suggests music crosses generations, but you do not explain how it brings people of different ages together or give a specific example. State your degree of agreement directly and develop one or two relevant examples in more detail.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “At first,” “Secondly” and “Eventually” help identify stages of the discussion. However, the overall progression is not always clear: the first body paragraph focuses mainly on entertainment rather than directly explaining how music connects people, and the final paragraph introduces a balanced position without clearly resolving the discussion. Some linking is mechanical or confusing, particularly “Although… However” at the start and “On the one hand… On the other hand” in the opinion paragraph. Improve the logical links between each claim and the task, and use pronouns and transitions only where their references are clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “cultures,” “lyrics,” “rhythms,” “nationalities” and “religious activities,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, sometimes making the meaning less clear. Examples include “music is a common language to bring people together,” “variety of things to be attractive with each other,” and “collect people.” There are also spelling errors such as “excercises,” “wheather” and “rythms.” Build a more precise set of phrases for discussing social connection, shared experiences and musical preferences, and check spelling and word forms during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “Although” and “Because,” and you use a range of sentence lengths. However, these attempts are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “Although they belong to different cultures and ages. However…” leaves an incomplete clause, while “some people argues” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. Other problems include “People enjoy listening music” and the sentence fragment “which could be helpful to bring people near to each other.” Review clause structure, agreement, articles and verb patterns, and punctuate complete sentences carefully. Aim first for accurate simple sentences, then add complex clauses where you can control them.
