Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that music can bring people together, and you give relevant examples involving parties, weddings, cultural music, and listening while doing household tasks. These examples show how music can be enjoyed across ages and can connect people with their culture. However, the response only partly develops the central idea of people from different cultures and ages coming together. For example, the party and household-work examples mainly describe personal enjoyment, rather than explaining how people interact or overcome cultural differences through music. Develop one or two examples further and explicitly link them to both age groups and cultures to make your support more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable sequence: it states your opinion, gives several supporting points, and ends with a personal conclusion. Connectors such as “firstly,” “in addition,” and “moreover” help signal new points. However, ideas are often presented as a series of short statements, and the progression between them is not always clear. The discussion moves from parties to cultural music, weddings, and household chores without grouping these into distinct, developed paragraphs. Some links are also unclear, such as “either they are youngs or old” after the point about language. Organise the response into clear paragraphs, each focused on one reason, and use linking phrases to explain how each example supports your main argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a basic range of relevant vocabulary, including “cultural music,” “melody,” “source of energy,” and “daily life,” which allows the reader to understand your main points. There are also attempts to express ideas beyond simple enjoyment, such as music representing culture and helping people relax. However, vocabulary is repetitive, especially “music,” “enjoyment,” and “source,” and several word choices or collocations are unnatural, including “therapy of enjoyment,” “the concept of party,” and “put my earpods in my ears.” Spelling errors such as “togather,” “prespective,” and “conculsion” are noticeable. Build a wider set of natural phrases for describing music’s social and cultural effects, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Most of your sentences use simple structures, and the main message is generally understandable. You attempt some longer sentences, for example the sentence beginning “even when we do our routine work,” but control becomes less reliable as clauses are added. Errors occur frequently in verb forms and agreement: “I am totally agree,” “children are also enjoy,” and “our parents likes.” Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “in wedding” and the run-on sequence about feeling sad, playing music, and doing chores. Practise accurate present-simple forms and build longer sentences from correctly joined clauses. Consistent capitalisation and punctuation will also make your ideas easier to follow.
