Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the task by comparing the 1920 park with the modern layout. However, the description is often confusing and inaccurate. For instance, you mention the fountain was 'removed', but the map shows it remains. You also state the entry gate changed, but the main entrance structure appears similar. The summary of features is somewhat disjointed, and the overview lacks a clear synthesis of the most significant changes, such as the shift from a formal garden style to a more facility-oriented park. To improve, ensure you carefully observe the visual data and group related features (e.g., vegetation vs. facilities) to provide a more logical and accurate report.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and unclear referencing. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore', 'In addition', and 'In conclusion', they are sometimes used mechanically or incorrectly, such as 'In addition there are numerous range in front of the concerts area'. The progression of information is not always logical, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the two time periods. Improving the use of transition words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You rely on basic terms and struggle with collocations, such as 'the grange Park have great location' and 'numerous range in front of the concerts'. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'the plan illustrated' (should be 'illustrates') and 'the setting are now the center' (likely referring to seating). To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more specific vocabulary related to maps and urban planning, such as 'transformed', 'replaced', 'relocated', or 'redeveloped', and focus on using these words in their correct grammatical context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('the plan illustrated... is firstly opened'), tense inconsistencies ('the grange Park have'), and awkward sentence construction ('when look the map of the park'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on consistent verb tenses and correct sentence structure will help improve your accuracy.
