IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The map illustrates about a newly opened public park in 1920 and same park in present day. Overall, the park has undergone for significant redevelopment, with many original features being demolish or relocated. Recreational and commercials facilities have been added including water feature, amphitheatre, and many other facilities.

In 1920, when the park was first inaugurated in the centre of the park there was a fountain. In the left hand side of the park it was stage for the musicians. The rose garden was located both opposite side of the stage. There were two entrance of the garden one is on the north side which is at arnold avenue and another is at eldon street on the north side. Beside to the entrance glasshouse was built. On top right corner of the park pond had been made for water plants. Seats are had been put at the boundary line of the park.
