Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main features of the park in 1920 and today, identifying key changes such as the amphitheatre, the children's play area, and the new parking facility. However, the overview is very brief and lacks clarity. While the main features are mentioned, the description is somewhat disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the spatial changes effectively. To improve, ensure that the overview provides a clearer summary of the most significant transformations and that the body paragraphs are structured logically to guide the reader through the comparison of the two time periods.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response lacks clear paragraphing, which is essential for a report of this nature. The text is presented as a single block, making it difficult to distinguish between the introduction, overview, and specific details. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Turning to details' and 'Probing further', but they feel mechanical and do not always connect ideas smoothly. The progression of information is somewhat chaotic, jumping between different areas of the park without a clear spatial or thematic logic. Using distinct paragraphs for different areas or types of changes would significantly improve the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is adequate to convey the basic meaning but is quite repetitive and lacks precision. Phrases like 'now park is undergone by some changes' and 'new facilities add to park' show limited control over collocations and grammatical word forms. There is an attempt to use specific terms like 'amphitheatre' and 'underground parking', which is positive, but the overall range is narrow. To reach a higher band, focus on using more varied verbs for change (e.g., 'transformed', 'replaced', 'converted') and more sophisticated nouns to describe park features.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including missing articles ('in west side of park'), incorrect verb tenses ('is replace', 'is removed'), and awkward sentence structures. The lack of punctuation, particularly between clauses, makes the text difficult to read and impacts the clarity of the information. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often faulty, which hinders communication. Focusing on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles would greatly enhance the quality of the writing.
