Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to describe the changes in Grange Park, but it fails to provide a clear overview or a structured comparison. While it mentions some features from both 1920 and the present day, the information is presented in a disorganized, list-like fashion without highlighting the main trends or significant transformations. The lack of a clear introduction or summary paragraph makes it difficult for the reader to grasp the overall changes. Furthermore, the description of the layout is confusing, and the response lacks the analytical tone required for an Academic Task 1 report.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response lacks paragraphing, which is essential for organizing information in a report. The flow of ideas is disjointed, and the use of cohesive devices is minimal and often inaccurate (e.g., 'So Arnold Avenue', 'Now a days in the Grange Park done some changes'). The progression of information is not logical; the writer jumps between locations without clear spatial markers, making it hard to follow the description of the park's layout. The lack of clear transitions between the 1920 plan and the current plan further hinders coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. The writer relies on basic descriptive terms and struggles with accurate terminology for the features shown in the diagrams (e.g., 'pound for water plants' instead of 'pond', 'strate' instead of 'straight', 'rmaind' instead of 'remained'). There are frequent spelling errors and word-choice inaccuracies that occasionally impede communication. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe the spatial relationships or the nature of the changes with any degree of precision or sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that affect readability. There is a lack of control over sentence structure, with many run-on sentences and fragments (e.g., 'So Arnold Avenue at the entrance we should look a fountain front of us'). Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are often incorrect (e.g., 'beside the entrance a rose garden', 'four side seat bench's'). While there is an attempt to use some complex structures, they are consistently faulty. The punctuation is also inconsistent, which further detracts from the clarity of the writing.
