Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to describe the changes in the park, but it fails to provide a clear overview or a structured summary of the main features. While some elements are mentioned, such as the rose garden and the cafe, the description is fragmented and lacks a logical progression. The response does not effectively compare the two maps; instead, it lists features in a somewhat disjointed manner. To improve, you should provide a clear introductory summary of the overall changes and group features logically (e.g., what was removed, what was added, and what remained the same). The lack of a clear overview and the informal, descriptive style prevent this from reaching a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear paragraph structure, making it difficult to follow the progression of ideas. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical or misused, such as the abrupt transition 'And Now today'. There is no clear logical flow between the description of the 1920 park and the current layout. Referencing is also unclear at times, which forces the reader to work harder to understand the spatial relationships between the features mentioned. Improving the use of linking words (e.g., 'In contrast', 'Furthermore', 'Additionally') and organizing the response into distinct paragraphs for each time period would significantly enhance coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You rely on basic descriptors like 'beautifull' (misspelled) and 'new invention'. There is a lack of precise terminology for describing maps, such as 'relocated', 'replaced', 'converted', or 'extended'. Several word choices are awkward, such as 'engaging more peoples' and 'today's age requirement'. To achieve a higher score, you need to use a wider range of vocabulary related to urban planning and spatial description, and pay closer attention to accurate spelling and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('the informations is', 'the seats is'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or fragmented, lacking proper punctuation. For example, 'the main fountain after the enterance and go to left side Stage' is not a complete or grammatically correct sentence. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of prepositions to describe locations.
