Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to summarize the main features of the park, but it is incomplete as the text cuts off abruptly mid-sentence. While you identify some changes, such as the fountain being replaced by a rose garden and the addition of a cafe, the description lacks a clear overview of the most significant transformations. The reporting of details is somewhat disorganized, and the failure to complete the task significantly impacts the ability to provide a full summary. To improve, ensure you cover all major changes and provide a cohesive summary of the park's evolution from 1920 to the present day.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. You use some cohesive devices like 'However' and 'In the past,' but the transitions between sentences are sometimes mechanical or repetitive. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as when referring to 'the garden' or 'the entrance' without specifying which part of the park is being discussed. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear focus will help the reader follow your comparison more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision required for a higher band. You use basic terms like 'figures' and 'structures,' and there are some awkward collocations, such as 'at four directions' instead of 'on all four sides.' There are also minor errors in word choice, such as 'replace' instead of 'replaced.' To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more specific vocabulary related to maps and spatial descriptions, such as 'situated,' 'transformed,' 'demolished,' or 'converted.'

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'the entrance are at the two directions' (subject-verb agreement) and 'there were three rose garden' (pluralization). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces and missing articles. While the meaning is generally understandable, these errors are frequent enough to cause some distraction. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and plural forms to improve your accuracy.
