Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which negatively impacts the score. While the main features of the park are identified, the overview is somewhat simplistic and lacks a clear, analytical summary of the most significant changes. The description of the 1920 layout and the current layout is present, but the comparison is underdeveloped. To improve, you should ensure you meet the word count and provide a more detailed overview that highlights the most striking transformations, such as the shift from a formal, performance-oriented space to a more recreational, family-focused environment.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into three short paragraphs, which is acceptable, but the logical flow is hindered by awkward phrasing and limited use of cohesive devices. While some linking words like 'Additionally' and 'In conclusion' are used, the transitions between sentences are often mechanical or unclear. For instance, the sentence 'According , to the maps there is a huge amount of changes has been done' is grammatically disjointed, making the progression of ideas feel forced. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices to connect your ideas more naturally and ensure each paragraph has a clear, unified focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'huge amount' and 'added', which do not demonstrate the range required for higher bands. There are also several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'inaugration', 'aminites', and 'stunning towards the park', which can cause confusion. To improve, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to describing maps and urban development, such as 'transformed', 'replaced', 'expanded', or 'redeveloped'. Expanding your range of collocations will help you express your ideas with greater clarity and sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('These maps describes', 'a huge facilities has been added'), incorrect preposition usage ('During inaugration'), and awkward sentence structures ('Water feature also makes very attarctive which was placed instant of fountain'). The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with some errors in complex constructions. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and sentence construction. Proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb forms will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
